  1. A-Jay on here has a tricked out Lund and I am sure could help you with every question.
  2. Just watched the video on that boat on their web site and holy cow, what a boat. Looks like they thought of everything and then some.
  3. I still have a bunch of his slider jigs.
  4. Don't know if this will help, but last year I sold one on 14 year old Curado 100 B reels in perfect shape with the box and papers for $85 and the buyer was really happy to get it. It also had ABEC7 SS spool bearings and CarbonTex drags. My reels lay on a foam rubber pad on the deck so there are no marks or rug rash on them. I have two left and now he wants another one, but they are just too nice to let go.
  5. Again here is to each his own. My cranks are on 7' BPS Medium Carbonlites fast tip I bought on sale for $99.99. Jigs, plastics and other stuff I fish on 7' MH fast tip BPS Carbonlites I also bought on sale for $99.99. They work just fine.
  6. Enjoy your new rig. The bass will never know the difference.
  7. Before our BPS opened an hour from me I receive maybe four rods in the mail. Only one from UPS arrived with the tube bent over maybe 20 degrees at 2 ft down from the tube end. It contained a 7' Medium Carbonite spinning rod and when I removed the rod it boinged right back to straight with no damage.
  8. I have three of the K HG's and have 2 brakes on and the outside dial on "3". All three are spooled with Invizx 15lb flouro and all three throw various plastics, worms, creatures, etc, It works well for me.
  9. To each his own here, but i settled on 17lb XL mono for my buzzers and it works really well.
  10. I have that jacket in red and it is really comfortable, which suites me fine for at my age I never take it off all day until I step on the dock at the end of the day. With the Potomac flow and a day of an outgoing tide, if you go over the side you can find yourself in deep doo very fast. What a great gift to you...someone cares.
  11. I only know that Bumble Bee had a reputation for making really fine boats.
  12. Just got a call from the guy doing the wrap, the whole cockpit is beige, but he is putting a sold green "V"" on the front and just got the green wrap in. My seats are green and beige, so it should look nice. Should be ready this Monday. Can't fish anyway with howling winds now.
  13. Also use one here. My favorite is the Zako paddle tail. It drives them nuts.
  14. A-Jay uses Lucas Slick Mist with a touch of vinegar to cut the crud. Now I do also and boy, does the Potomac trash a hull.
  15. I am currently having my cockpit wrapped. It was gelcoat over fiber glass and over the years developed hair line cracks from sun and stress. I cleaned out the cracks with an ice pick and filled them with Magic Easy Hairline Crack Filler, let it cure for two weeks, sanded them down with 2000 grit and it is now being wrapped because it looks wierd with all of the crack fixes, which are a lot lighter than the beige jelcoat. I will post a pic when I get the boat back. This a 20 years old boat.
  16. Which is why I have always liked Shimano. They have had great performance with fewer bearings. In many of their reels before the Xship bearing was added, 4+1 was pretty standard. I don't have e a Shimano reel with two bearings on the worm gear and can't say I ever wanted them.
  17. I have three K's and no problem.
  18. I upgraded everything in my SLX HG Spool bearings replaced by Hedgehog SS ZR high speed bearings, (Standard Shimano 3x10x4) Drive shaft bushing replaced by BNT 4194 bearing Both Drags replaced by Curado 70 HG Carbon Tex drags. Because it is an HG SLX. Cal's drag grrease on the drive gear Makes it a really sweet reel.
  19. This conversation reminds me of one on another site years ago when the merits of Curado reels were being discussed. A poster joined the conversation to say he had purchased a new Curado and the third time he used it, it "exploded". When asked to define "exploded" by others on the thread, he simply vanished from the site.
  20. It is not complicated. Braid is in essence micro rope the strength of which depends on the size of the braid, so a hook on braid hooked to an immoveable object with an attempt to retrieve said hook using a rod = a broken rod.
  21. May you have many happy and blessed days on the water with your new boat. Be careful on the that big ol James and remember, the bass do not know what you are in. Recommend you pick a telescoping push pole for the heavy grass beds, a paddle and a mushroom anchor. You can go into waters with that rig where others with big rigs dare not venture.
  22. Lots of different tube rigging on here, but a popular way on the Potomac is simply on a 3/0 EWG Gammie hook Texas rigged with a 3/16th slip sinker either pegged, or unpegged depending on where you are throwing it. I us a lot of Mizmo and Strike King tubes, but there are lots of excellent tubes on the market.
  23. All in Plano 3600 boxes for me. different box of each type...worms, creatures, etc. I have eight boxes in an old gym bag (remember the old gym bags) and stow it under the step to the front deck I built for my boat.
  24. Send it to one of the sponsors on here, Delaware Valley Tackle and you will get it back in primo condition.
