  1. Just curious since mine always come in a box. LOL
  2. What does collecting cans mean regarding a fishing reel?
  3. My size 27 12v weighs 59lbs and wonder what a 31 weighs.
  4. I thought about that idea also on my Pro 175 and called G3. The engineer with whom I spoke would only say "we do not recommend cutting into the deck to do that". So I fabricated a wooden angle mini stand which is slopped so that my TM foot pedal cable comes out right on top of the bow exactly and is strapped to the deck with a bungy. I have the little stand facing to the right at the bow and it is quite comfortable for my right foot. I run a MG 12V digital variable 55lb on a size 27 battery and it is more than enough power for the Tidal Potomac with river flow and tides. The digital feature makes it real easy on the battery.
  5. I gave up on extremely bright plastics like pure sapphier. Just never seemed to work for me. It just may be Potomac bass.
  6. I am with A-Jay and dropped the clip tops and also use cylindrical. Soooo much easier.
  7. I guess I am another of those who violate the regular way to fish Senko and like baits on a spinning reel and have always used a 7' MH fast tip bait caster.
  8. Oh yes with no problem. Little brother to the Curado 200E series.
  9. I ended up with 4/0 Gammie EWG in that bait and rig it Texas rigged with 3/16 slip sinker.
  10. I just took a few of my worms with me to Lowe's and picked out the right sizes.
  11. Since my earlier post on Hank Cherry was so mesmerizing, here is what the other four winners used and warning, white rods were used again LOL Todd Auten-Second Place Bladed Jig: 1/2 oz orange Jackhammer, Zoom Z craw Jr trailer, 7'1" MH Douglas rod, Daiwa Tatula reel, 20lb BPS mono Crankbait: 1/2 oz SK Red Eye lipless in shad and crawdad , 7'1" MH Douglas rod, Daiwa Tatula reel, 20lb BPS mono Stetson Blaylock -Third Place Crankbait: 1/2oz Booyah one knocker in bling, 7'4" H20 Xpress Ethos HD rod, H20 Xpress reel, 20lb Seaguar flouro Norman Speed N in chili bowl, 7'3" H20 Xpress Ethos HD rod, H20 Xpress reel, 17lb Seaguar flouro Seth Feider-Fourth Place Bladed Jig: 1/2oz Jackhammer in clear water shad with a Biospawn Exoswim 3.0 trailer in Feider shad , 7'4" heavy Daiwa Tatula fiber glass rod, Tatula reel, 17lb Sufix Advance flouro Micah Frazier-Fifth Place Crankbait: Norman Speed N in chili bowl,7'4" MH Abu Veracity rod (same one Cherry used), Abu Revo Premier reel, 20lb Sunline Super FC Sniper flouro Swimbait: 5" Yum money minnow in shad on a 3/8oz jig head, 7'3" MH Abu Veracity rod, Abu Revo Premier reel, 16lb Sunline Super FC Sniper flouro Obviously differences in what they used is indictive of the differences in the areas on Guntersville where each of them fished.
  12. My brother had a 14' john for years and not the same as a Pelican, but he had his TM on the stern right next to his seat and he controlled it by hand along with his sonar on the gunnel right beside him. It seemed to work well for him for years.
  13. My two 70XG's are four years old this month and have had the daylights fished out of them on the Potomac and never "geary" Maybe because I keep either Shimano ACT2, or Cal's drag grease on the main gear since day one. Still very smooth and both spooled with 15lb Invizx for different plastics.
  14. On the coffee color Tidal Potomac black/blue is pretty standard.
  15. And don't forget the ultra vibe by it self. I am trying two versions this year: the Zoom ultra vide Texas rigged with a 1/8oz slip sinker and the SK rage version in 7", which I shorten to 6", also Texas rigged with a 3/16 slip sinker. The SK is a lot huskier in appearance. Now, if the wind would just stop howling☹️
  16. My favorite line for top waters is 17lb XL mono on a MH 7' rod. I like the little boing in it for good hook ups. So far it works great.
  17. The whole cockpit was $300.
  18. No big river like the Tidal Potomac and it's massive grass beds and on it for the last 20 years with my three spinning reels (I use bait casters mostly) have been spooled with 8lb BPS Excel green mono and I can't begin to tell you how many bass have landed with it, but you can bet it has been a whole big ol bunch. I buy it in 1000yd spools. Never even thought about using anything else. My reels are 2500 and 3000 Sahara's on 7' medium rods. Currently all Carbonlites.
  19. You are a good man Glenn.
  20. I use two. Either a craw (SK Rage) or a Yamamoto Zako (both styles)
  21. My vote also. It is a solid, work horse reel that will serve you well. At least my three do. Mine are XG (8.5:1) versions and I love them.
  22. I use the same rod and reel configuration as the OP, but 15lb Invizx flouro.
  23. As careful as I am in respooling my spinning reels, I still do this in my basement just to be sure after respooling and after a day on the water. Good video Glenn.
  24. This is another subject that depends entirely on personal preferences. Mine are in 3600 boxes labeled for the type in the box. I only take on the water what is the choice for the season and conditions.
  25. Big discussion on here on back packs not long ago. Recommend you do a search for the information.
