  1. If it's Daiwa or shimano the lifetime warantee applies whoever has the rod for replacement. No question asked. Oh yeah Phenix Rods also works the same way but requires $50 for replacement fee.
  2. Thanks Fishingelbow, very much appreciate the response!
  3. Got no dick's here in SoCal. Good thing I got his from our local shop.
  4. Rods are normally under $300 on the average. I don't see a reason why to fill up the registration form and go thru the hassle of sending my address in their database so they can send me junk mails. Those things are just marketing strategy to get your personnal information. Anyway that's beyond the original topic. No warranty No buy for me.
  5. I don't see any reason why you would be upset about the way their warrantee works. If you don't like it just say you disagree. No need for personal attack and sarcastic remarks.
  6. Used High end and average price rods for shimano still have warrantee. It's a lifetime and/or limited warranty for the rod so the company honors the warranty, does not really matter if you are the first owner or not. They don't ask for the original receipt so no issue. They would even replace your discontinued old broken rod with the new version. The only cost you incur is the shipping.
  7. $155 for a CT DC....Great score!!!
  8. Just because you did not see what you wanted to see does not mean we did not give a good advice. The response you get are from folks who have been using braid for quite sometime and give you answer based on experience and not hear say. If you are really concern on what fish can see then get yourself this book… It's a good book for picking up lure colors depending on depht and condition of water which you can also apply to your line.
  9. I match my braid with my under wear.. But seriousely, if the Alabama rig with five 6" steel wire attached to the swimbaits can catch fish. I'm sure the fish would not mine biting on single white or green braid. Besides you can always use a FC leader if you want some invisibility on the line to increase your confidence.
  10. Always on the look out for sale, restock when there's a good deal. Always buy a spare or backup to avoid paying the regular price when you need it.
  11. I go with the company that gives warranty on their product. Shimano rods has it. Dawa also has it and they both offer pretty darn good rod selections. Even Dobyns and Phenix have them. Although, best warranty are from Shimano and Daiwa, they replace broken rods due to accidental or user fault without any charge. Can't beat that.
  12. That's the reason why I try it myself before saying anything about the product. I could not imagine how others could comment, more so say negative things on a particular product without personally owning and using them.
  13. I guess you can only run a test on PP since it’s the one that you have been using based on your recent post. Those who have use it knows that PP floats, the question about sinking braid is when 832 came into the topic. 832 claims to be sinking due to the gore-tex strand added into the mix. I guess you have missed my post when I compared the braids that I have personally used like the PP, Fireline Crystal, Spiderwire, Sufix Performance, Daiwa Samurai and Sufix 832 braids. Do yourself a favor get yourself 832 and give us a report in 3 mos. This way you would know what we are talking about and at the same time you get yourself a chance to try 832. Oh and you might want to try Daiwa Samurai in the mix.
  14. It may not matter to you if it sinks on not but it does matter to those of us who take advantage of the line properties, like if it sinks or not.
  15. Line can sink between pause.
  16. I use cheap braid as backing like PP.
  17. There's a limit on irregular shape hand carry, you might want to check your airlines. Last time I travel to HI, I had to check in my 2 piece rod. They charge me $30. After that I went for a 4 piece travel rod. Albright has a sale on casting travel rod for $79. Just bring in your farorite reel plus a backup reel and you are good to go.
  18. unfortunately there's no accurate way to compute it since manufacturer stated braid diameter does holds true all thru out the line from end to end. The best way to fill them correctly is to use another two reels to shuffle the topshot and backing. 1. Fill in the reel with the braid in and connect the mono and fill in up to the desired spool limit. 2, Then transfer the line to another reel to empty the first reell. 3. Transfer the line again to another reel to have the braid as backing, 4. Then transfer the line back to the first reel to make mono as backing and you're done.
  19. Tru dat! Excellent choice. I'm actually more comfortable using it than palming the CU50e. Great for topwater/ walk-the-dog technique.
  20. Pretty cool Goose52, what size conquest did you get?
  21. You'r killing me Maico1... love that!
  22. That is an insane sale for $139.
  23. Very nice Maico1!
  24. Love it! CT50XT
  25. The 41 are heavier, it uses a thicker wire. It changes the bouyancy of the lure. It will make your slow float lure to be suspending and the suspending lures to be slow sink. I use it when I want to change the float /sink rate of my LC and other stick baits. Also when using fresh water lures for saltwater species.
