  2. I haven't had an issues with chipping on the few I have use. I'm fishing a lot of vegetation and clay bottom water and some stump fields. I could see the finish being compromised if fishing rocks and rip rap though.
  3. I searched the forum but couldn't really find anything relatively recent on them. What are your thoughts on Enigma rods? Not so much interested in their reels but have been curious about their rods since they debuted but haven't pulled the trigger. I seen they have discontinued the Aaron Martens line and those seemed to have good reviews. Any thoughts on the company would help me in deciding to purchase one.
  4. The jerkbait was the first hard bait I had confidence in. I use the Rapala Shadow Rap and X-Rap. I also enjoy the Megabass Vision 110, Strike King KVD and Spro McStick 110.
  5. Kistler Crank, Rip, Twitch rod. I believe it is a KLX Series. I love that rod for jerkbaits. I also use a 13 Omen Black 2 as well
  6. I put grease on my gears only and oil on everything else.
  7. I don't know a whole lot about Falcon as a company but I did see a post on Kistler's facebook page where they announced that they are having issues getting blanks for their rods. They outsource their blanks from North Fork Composite and apparently NFC is having issues. It could be the same thing for Falcon unless they spin their own blanks.
  8. I have two Wild Orange and one Wild Black that I have not broken. As for Kistler, Trey just released a new, updated version of the Argon which I own one and it is amazing. I would highly recommend Kistler. In your range you could go with the Argon or the Magnesium 2. Both are great at the price point.

  10. Thanks man. This is such a tricky situation for me as this is the first event with a new club and don't wanna set a bad impression.
  11. When I co I always pay full ramp fees, bring snacks and drinks then usually $40-$60 for gas. That's why I feel like on an electric tournament should only be ramp fee, food and drinks
  12. So I am fishing a tournament this weekend as a co angler. The lake we are fishing is electric motor only, the outboard has to be trimmed as high as possible and can only use the trolling motor to move about. As a back seater I always give money to the boater for gas as well as bring drinks and snacks for us both. I have the drinks and snacks planned but I don't know if I should still give the boater money on top of it. I could see maybe a little but I don't feel he should get the full $60 I normally give a boater. What are your thoughts?
  13. There reels are no longer made in the US anyways.
  14. They make decent rods but their reels are junk. Over priced. I had owned one in every price range form the APEX Ranger to the APEX Grand. Only reel that was any good was the APEX Elite. I was very disappointed as I was a fan for the Edge reels the generation before.
  15. This right here. I use Reelsnot religiously. My last order they sent me the Java bottle by accident and allowed me to keep. It I don't really have an opinion for it. It doesn't seem to do anything extra to my lures.
  16. That post was in 2013. Yet another topic has been resurrected.
  17. Check Tackle warehouse they usually have all the promo forms.
  18. Welcome from one Ohioan to another, however I am in the NW Corner.
  19. I am heading into my 4th season of the same Vicious No Fade braid and it looks brand new as if I just spooled it on. I just bought a couple more reels that need braid on them and the $55 price tag for the no fade is a little steep.
  20. I have no experience with rods stated above but my favorite chatterbait rod is a Kistler KLX Feel n Reel 7 6'11" MH. It gives you the best of both worlds with glass and graphite mixture
  21. Color Fading is my number one pet peeve with braided line. I have been using Vicious No Fade since it was released. I am in need of more line but wanted to see if there are other brands out there that do not color fade. I have tried PP, Suffix 832, Spiderwire, Tuffline to no avail. I was thinking of trying Seagur Flippin line or Daiwa braid but do not want to pay the money for a line that will be faded white in a couple outings. Anyone know of other line that does not fade? If not Ill stick with Vicious.
  22. I have an Omen Black that runs pretty identical to Kistlers' power ratings.
  23. Daiwa Tatula Ct on eBay for just under $100 or even the Fuego CT on the bay for $65 is were I would go. Quality, light reels and I love the Magforce Z brakes.
  24. I'm a sucker for the Castaic frog. Inexpensive and produces.
  25. Only hook I use is the VMC Spin Shot.
