  1. I go through USPS every time. I good way to get the right price is to do it yourself. When I go into the post office it costs around $25 but when I do click-n-ship through their website it is usually around $15. I usually get way cheaper prices doing this on everything I ship USPS.
  2. This is so true. The term "Trick Worm" is now used for any work that resembles the Zoom Trick Worm. It is the same for stick baits how everyone calls them "Senkos" For the OP. Yes the "Original" Trick Worm will float the "Super Salt" will not.
  3. I think I watched the same video you did and was confused because the contract was for $3k in free rods for promotion so I don't see how Favorite did anything wrong there. I keep hearing other youtubers speak for the Googans but nothing from their own mouths. I also heard about the free rods and profit sharing with other Youtubers. But what exactly happened between Favorite and the Googans? I thought at one point they had ownership in the company and was getting profit sharing.
  4. I love Brian Latimer's channel. I have learned a ton from him. I'm not a fan of Scott or Roland so I really don't watch their channels. I enjoy Wheeler's but he needs to learn more about lighting and camera work some of his videos give me headaches from the camera motion and lighting. David Dudley also have a great channel.
  5. I reorganize my tackle a handful of times throughout the year especially if I'm cooped up in my house for a long period of time. But this fall I was cleaning out my garage and found a box from TW that had a brand new reel and about $100 in baits I completely forgot I had bought in the spring. It was like Christmas for me lol.
  6. Baitplastics.com best prices and products out there. Second best is Dead On Plastix but it all depends on where you live when it comes to shipping charges.
  7. I've even seen this with businesses like TW. Granted TW took them down pretty timely but there was a reel that was announced at ICAST. The next day TW had it up for pre order and there were already reviews about how great of a reel it was and what its best used for. But like I said TW ended up taking the reviews down. it has gotten to the point now that I will not even read reviews about anything now a days, can't trust any of them.
  8. I wouldn't drive three hours just to shop at F&S especially since Fisherman's Central is only 2 but I do like the selection of products at F&S more than at my local BPS and Cabelas. I like that I can get some of the newer brands that most stores don't carry. And they price matched Tackle Warehouse sale and I got a 13 Fate Black rod for $60 after TW sold out.
  9. This. They are expanding Field and Stream into more locations. Makes sense to take the Outdoors out of Dicks to drive more traffic to their F&S stores. I went to F&S for the first time in November as it is 3 hours from my house and I enjoyed their store and prices more than the bass pro that's 10 min from my house. I really hope that my area is one that gets a F&S with their expansion.
  10. My dedicated Jerkbait rod is one of my cheaper rods. Just like fishing crankbaits I find I don't need a rod that is super sensitive with the cream of the crop components. So for me I use a 13 Omen black 2 6'7" M MF. The slower action helps keep me from pulling the bait out of the fish's mouth. I have mine paired with a casting setup and 10# Mono. I don't fish jerkbaits deeper than 4' and usually open water or light vegetation just to give you a perspective on how I use it. If I am fishing around rocks I'll bump my line to 12# Fluoro.
  11. I'm looking for a reel for 3/4oz- 1.5oz deep cranks. I have settled on one of these reels. Which one is better and why. It'll be my first dedicated deep diving crank setup. I did have in the past the EXO 200 and enjoyed it but I hear amazing things about the Revo Winch. I am not looking at other brands so please try not to suggest other reels. Looking for input from people that have uses either or both reels and see what they liked and didn't like about them.
  12. 99% of the time I use MHX but I have been thinking about trying different blanks.
  13. 3-5 year is perfect for a rod. If you use a rod over the course of a year without issues then all of a sudden it snaps or a guide breaks than its user error or neglegence not manufacture defect.
  14. Anyone ever use the Custom Rod Components rod blanks? Seem really cheap $30-$50 but I can't find a thing about them.
  15. I love this collection. The Exo is one of my all time favorite reels.
  16. I absolutely hate braid on everything concept. But that's me. I used to be a picky on what line I had spooled on what reel but this season I switched it up. I use 40# braid for heavy cover and various size Yo-Zuri Hybrid for everything else.
  17. I to have a Smoke S3 as well as a couple Exo. Quantums are finicky and must be meticulously maintained to keep them running at optimal performance. They're good reels though and enjoy them.
  18. I have been building my own rods over the summer and starting to replace my commercial rods with what I've built. I was looking at the MHX Composite-X blank or the s-glass blank for a long frog rod. I think I am going to be looking at the composite-x or just one of their graphite.
  19. If anyone is Facebook Friends with Trey he has been posting on there since mid 2018 about testing and developing his own blank. I have original Argons and Carbon Steels plus the newer generation Argon, Helium and KLX. I haven't had an issue with any of the rods and have been very happy with them.
  20. The H3 is my current dedicated frog rod.
  21. Trey has designed his own blank for his 2020 lineup. There was an issue with him and NFC when it came to the new ZBone blanks so Trey decided to develop his own blank.
  22. Thanks everyone, it was an idea that I was tossing around since I never seen anyone using a one. I was looking for any advantage I can get.
  23. Like the title says has anyone used a glass rod for frigging. I like a mod-fast action rod with a soft tip when I frog and when looking at new rods I thought a Hvy glass rod would fit that bill. I just don't know how it would handle trimming to horse those fish out of the cover.
  24. I never thought to contact Okuma thank you Is Okuma still a site sponsor?
  25. I bought an Okuma Helios SX spinning reel in February. When I bought it it was really smooth, felt like a breeze could have turned the handle. Throughout the season it was used heavily and all the regular maintance was done monthly. I noticed as the season went on the handle was getting heavier. Now that I have some time I wanna tear it down and see what is going on with it but I don't know my way around spinning reel internals. Where and what should I look for to make this reel smooth again and the handle lighter?
