Also I remember a thread of some guys who went to pigeon forge and fished for smallies in the river and creeks. Might be a nice option to wade a creek for smalliess. fun fishing and you get to keep cool.
I don't know but I am the one moving there from the previous post so if you need a fishing buddy one of those days and I'm not working I might be able to go with you
Thanks for the replies guys I will definatelly hit you up when I get down there. I know of quite a few ponds from growing up in the area but hopefully one day can get a boat and hit up the lakes.
well I ended up buying a gallon of pourasol from lureworks and it was very reasonable compared to lurecraft. I'll let yall know how it goes. now i just need to get clay and pop to make my molds
I'm looking to make some handpours for the first time and was hoping to get some suggestions on where to get the plastic. All help would be greatly appreciated.

So after living in Nashville for the last 4 years my wife new baby and I are gonna go home to the Tampa area. Do any of yall fish out there? I always fished from the bank in neighborhood ponds. Hope to hear from some of yall and maybe like the va folks we could get a little meet and greet organized one day.
How do you weight a swimbait? Do you split it and then glue it back together or drill holes? If you drill holes and put weight in that way, how do you fill it to have a smooth surface to paint? Any help would be much appreciated.
At work we have a bunch of scrap hemlock blocks laying around and wondered if anyone knew anything about the wood. I was told its similar to pine buts that's all I got. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am just starting to get into making swimbaits and have NO intention of trying to sell. What I wanted to know is how much does a quality handmade swimbait usually go for? Just curious.
Yeah its a lot of fun so far the chiiger craw won 11 to 10 so it just barely won. Also it was a pretty normal day of fishing I just didn't realize how many we actually caught until I tallied it up. This is all being done by wading creeks as well.
Do you add any weight to your lures or is it just the wood paint and hardware that mkae the weight? Ive seen your stuff on here and tackleunderground and am thouroughly impressed so any advice would be awesome. thanks
Well in the first battle last night we fished for 2 hours and caught 21 fish. The Berkley Chigger craw beat the Net Bait Baby Paca Craw barely. The final was 10 to 11
So I am just getting started in baitmaking, I have made one crankbait body and just am about to test a small swim bait. Do yall have any ideas for a good color combo for fishing creeks for smallies. thanks
They have an image gallery up on fieldandstream.com of the products. Some of this stuff is amazing. Also if you want a cool story on what the rod companies do to keep a secret espnoutdoors.com has a really interesting article
I havent tried them yet but I have a package that will be used in Augusy when I do my battle of the baits that you can see here in the tackle section once I see how they work I will let you know
