There is an extensive network of trails and much of them are adjacent to water. I could use some more intel for this place as it's not exactly clear to me which areas of this park might be best. I'm also not sure what kind of fish are in these waters, or what bait to use. I did get some nibbles on a worm while fishing in the waters just to the west of "Purple-25" -------------- fish all of it that you can,,,, lots of water takes time to learn it. this place is also a great fishery but you gotta put in the time.... it is huge area .. alot of people say to fish the hollis end... i find fish everywhere , lots of weeds lots of structure. ( more largemouth than smallmouth) 2nd launch for Nashua river off of broad st gives some access to some fishing also 5) Some fishing App I have suggested "honey pot pond" in Amherst. However, I went on a reconnaissance mission and couldn't find a spot where a member of the public could access the shore. Please advise. -------- carry in path right next to the store 6) I did find something called "little honey pot pond" nearby. I found a place to park next to a small opening in the shoreline brush. Google earth has it at 5 waterview drive Amherst. 7) There is a canoe-launch area along the soughegan river just past Soughegan high School on Boston Post Road. Has anyone caught anything here? --- sorry , i do not know this one. Baboosic lake.... carry in but i forget where the carry launch is , Round pond Nashua ---- gets hammered with people -- but holds a few nice fish Stump Pond behind Joes diner in Amherst .... big pickerel , i put in a couple trips here every year, always worth my time. gets filled with weeds and PARTS of it partially dry up. The pickerel are surviving and so are the bait fish. Nashua river off of front st / franklin st has canoe/kayak launch to give access to the river. Gets you from Jackson falls area almost all the way back to the bottom of the dam where it falls from stellos ---- (more smallmouth than largemouth) Lovewell pond off of main dunstable rd , some fishing areas , excellent place to catch black crappie and lots of them. watch for snakes ,,,, non poisonous water snakes. --- there are no know snakes in NH other than Eastern rattle snakes that are poisonous.. but they can still bite you Bass pond near lovewell pond --- i have no info for you , never fished it Paddle witches brook in Amherst into 3rd pennichuck pond --- most of the pennichuck is off limits to fishing and being in the woods ,,,,, no boats are allowed in the pennichuck water supply. Merrimack river --- fish the area where the Nashua dumps into the Merrimack ---- very rocky area Sandy pond off of lake st --- 75% is fishable from shore ---- the other 25% is fishable if you are a resident of the pine st housing facility or know someone who is and will fish with you. 100% fishable with a canoe/yak Get a Clarks fishing NH book. --- AVAILABLE AT MANY PLACES. MissouriJacob ---- BOW LAKE !!! RESEARCH AND FISH IT , PARKING CAN BE A PROBLEM
  4. Martin , i have been wicked busy... give my a few hours/days , i will post you up some of my Nashua river ideas.
  5. There is a lot of water in Southern nh.... for yak and big boats..... within 1 hour there is 50 ponds to fish....... For starters with a yak.... Horseshoe pond in Merr has some really nice fish. I have several over 5 in the past 2 summers , Naticook has some nice 3 lbers but it seems like it is still on a rebound and fish are in a growing stage. a lot of under 2lbers. There must be a big few --- dream pond in amherst , lincoln pond milford , crooked pond loudon , horseshoe pond concord. , nutts pond manchester and stevens pond manchester......... . .all of these places hold some really nice fish. You gotta put in the time and find them. all of these are small , quiet , relaxing places........ except for stevens which has a lot of noise from cars. Nashua river is a goldmine. I have 2 at 6-8. and my 7-2 from nashua river.
  6. Thank YOU. I leave to go there tomorrow. First stop will be at one of the local bait/tackle shops and on the water.
  7. Thank You. much appreciated
  8. Wife and i are headed to the Cape for 4 or 5 days. Can anyone give me some insight on where i should go for some surf casting ? I do not care what i catch. Wife would like to relax and read on some beaches. I do have chest waders and basic surf casting rods. Can i use more than 1 rod at a time in Ma ? One to cast with and 1 to let sit. Ideas on baits to use for both casting and letting something sit. I am willing to buy stuff to enjoy for the 4 or so days
  9. US Navy Vet , Shellback Once a Sailor always a Sailor
  10. Thank You , i fish that a lot here in Nashua. doing google maps on my phone to try and locate ponds , then names , then trying to find legal access. Then go pickerel , pike , trout , bass searching. There are some huge pickerel in the Nashua river.
  11. Thank You , excellent info . exactly what i was looking for for. Companies and creatures that i did not know existed. I fish a lot of small and med sizes as well as a lot of rage magnum stuff and many different colors , Manns jelly 10 and 12 inch worms included. But what i was lacking was the big creature stuff and no one here in New Hampshire carries any of it. Looks like i will be ordering from several different places. 6 to 12 inch creatures , Thank You again for all the info sometimes they want a full meal , sometimes they want just a little snack. One of my 6 lbers came on a trout fly 1/2 the size of a dime. Several 1 lbers on the big spro rat. Thank You again.
  12. Thank You... bigger than those is what i am looking for.
  13. I use a lot of rage magnum bugs and stuff like rage lobsters , yamafrogs . I am looking for other large soft creature baits. There are a bunch of large worms , but i am looking for craws and creature baits. Ideas ? Small brand baits ? small independent bait companies ?
  14. Thank You guys. major mental note on the gators.
  15. I am following , my wife and i will be there for a week come Sept. Parking seems to be the big thing. We will be there spending anniversary week ..... spending a few times in the canoe and a few grand on hotels and food
  16. I spend a lot of time working in these areas, suggestions on ponds to try from shore as well as canoe ? Going to try google earth and start there.
  17. I have relatives in Longs S.C. --- any LM , SM or other freshwater fishing in this area ? I probably will not have a boat, not sure when i will be visiting again. I am here now for a couple days. Possibly in Aug. I know the ocean is right there. I fish mainly sm/lm bass as well as pike out of NH. Big pickerel ? Snake head ? what else do they fish for fresh water in the area ?
  18. nice log greag info. i still use pencil for mine, but you forgot the important stuff. what were you wearing and what beer did you drink ? i assume you also log name of pond but left it off on purpose.
  19. Otternic is on the rebound, let me know how you do. Nashua river is big and tough to learn. it has a lot of hidden underwater structure. It has some really nice bass.
  20. Non resident Ma license for freshwater ..... $37.50 .... what else in life can you do for $37.50 for a whole year. go catch some big mass bass
  21. March 3 / 4 39 degree water ..... rage craw weightless ,green with white under and green with redish under. no hard hit , just little tugs and then hook sets
  22. Thank You for all the input. Sounds like i can get 360 if i simply turn the transducer for side imaging. it is going to be a temp mount anyway so there is no reason i cannot make it to turn to point front and back. I am going to look for a deal on the humminbird helix 7 or 9. water here is frozen now so i have time to wait. will do some more research on the types of transponder available also.
  23. recommendations with all the new electronic stuff out there, not concerned with gps i fish mostly smaller water for bass in NH out of my canoe and jon boat. max depth maybe 50 feet but usually less. I am not concerned with mounting it i can make something portable as i have in the past with just a simple depth finder. Looking for best way to search underwater to find places that should hold bass. 7 inch screen so i can see it. I seem to be drawn to the humminbird . seems simple enough. does this side imaging thing really work that well ? how about the 360 ? how about the learning curve ? i dont understand this switchfire , dragon fly and chirp. ( i am doing some internet research to try to help me understand ) was looking towards the humminbird 598 with side and down image but only 5 inch screen. then there is the new helix and onyx we would be willing to spend 7 or 800 , splitting it with 4 others @ 200 each.
  24. A few in a small pond down here in Nashua. Nothing bigger than 3 lbs but they are there. Weightless rage craw in pb/j color bumping it around really slow on the bottom in 8 to 10 feet where it drops from 4 to 8 pretty quick. I did not get water temp. Threw some slow rolling spinners and a stanley top toad really slow. I small hit on the toad but no hook up fishing where the bright sun was warming the water. Much like us they like to bask in the sun and warm up. Keep the sun in front of you so you dont spook them with your shadow. Water tends to get really clear with so much not growing.
