  1. Congrats! Cute little booger
  2. Argh. I have been using a snap/swivel instead of just a regular snap/clasp. I am not so used to one way or the other to not be able to change, I just thought snap = for ease of changing lures swivel = to help free up the motion of the lure This is not right? They tend to be running alright, as far as I can tell, but what do I know :-[ I do have some regular ol' snaps (w/o swivels) I can try. I do not care which one I use, I am just glad to not have to tie direct each time :-/
  3. Hmm Must investigate this further - a made in the USA 1911 for under $600, color me skeptical, yet still interested
  4. I gotta be honest, that kinda thing would raise my blood pressure, but after reading the whole story, I see it: Oldbritguy - 1 (or 5 or 7, however you wanna look at it) well-decorated guys - 0
  5. That criss-cross cork work is awesome. Nice stuff!
  6. Ghoti - as a bass newb/person re-discovering fishing, I appreciate that helpful post on the 2nd page I consider myself a jack-of-all-trades, master-of-none ----- I am into shooting sports, motorcycles, guitars - just made my "re-discovery" of fishing a month or so ago, but is has been very comforting to see how much 'Made in the USA' stuff is available and at the top of the performance/quality ratings when it comes to fishing stuff Having said all that, I'm sure I have room for these new little guys
  7. Does anybody know what brand of bottled water helped KVD to take his 3rd Classic?
  8. I'm over 400# and love my Crocs - I took a walk w/the wife the other day around the neighborhood, a mile and a half trek (a good ways for me) and my feet were A-OK (why she picked nearly the hottest part of the afternoon to go, I'll never know) I love sandals/flip-flops/Crocs when around the house, just a trip to the store, etc (or barefeet, really) but the Crocs are not really providing much protection from fire ants (I'm bank-bound) - last two times the little boogers have eat me up, one time pretty bad For sneakers (teenee shoes), I have totally fallen in love w/New Balance running shoes. I used to always get the cross-trainers in the $40-60 range. I tried a pair of 992s ($100+ running shoes) and never looked back - HUGE difference when I have to be on my feet for a large part of the day. The model # now is 993. I kept balking at getting some high-dollar running shoes b/c of a pair of Nikes I had forever ago. Nikes are not made wide OR for people my size. NB offers many styles/designs in wider sizes (I wear a 15 EW = Extra Wide = EEEE) & last a long time, IMO. I now know my size & can order online with 100% confidence. Next time you are at the mall, duck into one of the shoes stores & ask 'em what they have in 15s. If they don't laugh, they will go to the back & in 20 min return w/two giant boxes. One will be a pair of white, hi-top b-ball shoes. The other box is the black pair. > ;D
  9. (Don't mean to hijack) How important is 4WD? My concern is trying to get back up a wet ramp in my 2WD (if/when I ever get a boat, lol)
  10. Cool stuff - that is rare for a company to offer something like that (an 'after-the-fact' kind of service, even if it is 50 bucks) I am not a big fan of extended warranties - got a couple of cheapies at BPS a couple weeks ago just so we could hit the bank - shoulda heard me chuckle when the lady asked if I wanted a 2-yr protection plan on my $35 spinning combo How much? $15. ;D
  11. Heinz 57 for burgers A-1 for roastbeef sammiches +1 to if I add either to a steak, it is not a good steak you add either to a steak I cooked, I may not cook you another one > ;D
  12. I'm in Jacksonville, most our family is in Cullman
  13. I'm sorry, that might get me cut outta the will w/my dad --- would definitely negate the free r-n-r from FIL (might even get me drown) ;D
  14. Just sayin hey and introducing myself. Went on many, many fishing trips w/Dad in my youth, but only remember fishing for bream and cats. Hit a friend's stocked pond a few WEs ago & was like a kid in a candy shop - felt like I was discovering fishing for the first time again - am totally bit now. Going to be abel to steal some lures/etc from my dad and the father-in-law used to make rods, do all the fancy-schmancy wraps/etc - asked him about gear & he is giving me one of the last rods/reels he made - an Abu Amb. 5000c and a rod of forgotten material and origin, lol - could not be happier to get something made from him (and free) Got bit hard by the bug, bait monkey is looking up my address as I type this, have not even had a chance to go again, but am already looking for a jon boat that will fit me, the wife and our (almost) 3yo girl I may be posting from the couch in the very near future Hey, y'all!!!
