  1. species and habitat make it a bit eaiser. For instance, in the same lake dads that burrow in clay will come out with the red tint from wintering there once it is around bass spawn temps and will gradually change- dads on the same lake that live in the rocks will be closer to the browns we all know. Course they dont read what we do and it all changes
  2. Not going to any of those- got one here in Bloomington 28th-30th that i will go to...i hope they serve beer again.
  3. Too much d-baggery even if they have to get in the ring with a real fighter...cant give that show ratings.
  4. Wow, i almost never use a palomar, but use the trilene knot for almost everything. To each his own.
  5. Dude, go ahead. Many up here use them on their centrepin rods. in freezing temp, you just mash the ice out of them. That's their best application if you ask me. No doubt- it works like said. Pretty neat, but never had any real issues with bent/broken guides... Would be nice for ice.
  6. I use reel magic- does what it says it will do.
  7. Not sure i have the guts to bend the guides- but looking to using the 803 to throw some finess jigs using some yo zuri copoly. Cant stand the sound of braid!!! Thanks again- looking foward to getting years of use out of it.
  8. Thanks all. Great answers to my question there. Like i said, i am sure some time on the water with it and i will love it.
  9. Just bought a G Loomis GLX series from the flea market section. Great transaction, product came in good time. It would be a good value based on MSRP. I typically use a variety of rods, never tried a loomis- typically stick with St croix/all star- With the loomis, i noticed that the guides are all just wire, no insert, and everything about the rod seems...well, cheap. I went out on a limb to try g loomis- not real impressed. There must be some high end materials in there to price the rod that high, or would the price be paying for the logo? I will wait to see what the feel is like on it in the water and see if it is worth the money. Anyone have any thoughts on this?
  10. Should be a great game. If Bears can hold the turnover ratio in their favor, i am confident of a win, if allow cutler to get sacked and start throwing ints'- the welcome to the sb pack fans- it has been a while for you. Go Bears!!!!! Lets also not forget some of the Packers games this season- it has not all be fun and games...As bears fans we understand this about ourselves. They lost to CHI, WAS, MIA, ATL, DET, NE. What is scary is- NE and ATL are out- lets hope to add GB to that list.
  11. All great neighbors in my subdivision...but then down the street they put up hud multi family housing. Some of them are not so wonderful some of the time, and some of them are great.
  12. Perhaps a better approach that would both benefit your lakes and not cost what a stocking would be is to looking to non point source pollution solutions to make your current lakes and species healthier. With run off lakes, everythign that is collected is deposited in your lakes (all watersheds really). Anyhow, depending on what your area is like, it can cause alge blooms from fertalizers of lawns/fields, pesticides ect. Anyhow, just a thought.
  13. LMAO. I agree. Those are awesome lures to catch some bass. last time I was out for 10 hours, because of that d**n lure. (well, I juice it up with some blue label and pepsi). haha! You ruin blue label with Pepsi?????????
  14. Not crazy, but keel weighted space monkey I use as a buzz frog in the morning and without putting that rod down it also stands on bottom like a craw would perfectly. I guess it is just really versatile. edit: I use instead of a t-rigged craw which i seem to get too much line twist with- keel weight eliminates that.
  15. Or they're copying some proven existing baits. :-X Atlanta area made?
  16. Have you tried leaving her at home? That works some of the time. Anyhow, I believe there are/were a good number of people highly into customizing this type of boat- winter would be a good time to get in touch with them...so essentially this is just a bump.
  17. TVA did some amazing things down there. This makes my wipers this winter that I thought were solid look like fry. Wish we had the real deal. Nice fish.
  18. That would solve all doubt i guess. Good idea, i will do that for next year just in case now that the board got me paranoid.
  19. No spots are all that special in any lake except the great lakes or other such large waters. imo. Never had anyone troll up and start fishing my buoys while I am out. I have had many come up and talk to me and ask what I am doing out in the middle of a reservoir and i gladly tell them so they can do it on there own at a later time.
  20. I will mark humps on a particualr lake that goes from about 12ft to 3ft out in open water. I would do the same on any body of water if the situation presented itself.
  21. With 15 items to drop- i would make sure to gps all of them. I tend to forget year to year. Also, if you are in one, dont put them in lakes your club fishes. Always seems frowned upon...That is unless your are a tight knit bunch and share it with them- then they willl love the idea of you doing the work.
  22. Sounds silly...but going to new lakes. I spend most of my time on 3 lakes (within 15 minutes of my house)...and only late in the season did i remember how much fun it is to go to brand new ones and do well. Just need to leave a bit earlier to account for travel time. That...and get a bigger trolling motor.
