  1. BF4. I don't play video games, but when I do it is battlefield series.
  2. colors on your fish are downright awesome.
  3. I think the technique specific tactical rods would be good- crank bait specifically. I think, again talking at this price point, I would order the rod again however I may bump up to a heavy even if fishing in open water. Problem being I would want to hold a heavy in person first to see just how stiff it may be. overall, I guess I would give it an 8.5/10. would have got a 9.5/10 if it fit exactly what I needed it for, which is impossible and completely subjective person to person.
  4. I think all these shows are all technically called "non-scripted" shows. Obviously fake scenarios that characters then act out. Another show comes to mind...quack quack.
  5. I own the 7'3'' mh 8-17# 3/8-1oz lure rating. Bought to use for open water football jigs/heavy gauge hook jigs. I found that it was a bit soft for my liking using 17# fluro and your typical diameter hook for those baits. I now use the rod for lighter wired hair/hippy jigs that are in the same weights and for those applications it meets my expectations. It is a light, well balanced rod, but like a said, a bit soft for the rating imo. I find it to be more than adequately sensitive at that price range and I am also a fan of have no "foregrip" on the rod so that I can actually keep a finger on it.
  6. Main lake point- off main lake channel- secondary points off feeder creeks. Personally I imagine your "yellow" area to be rather flat and lifeless but could have some additional structure I don't see on the map. The better point that I actually to see would be the "point" at the top of your map in red. It has better depth change and butts up against a channel swing. I would actually prefer to fish that, but most likely would take a look at your area in yellow. To me, that does not look like a good spawning area but would still have fish year round in various transitions. Spawn area I would look for protected flat areas close to deeper structure, and would fish that deeper structure pre/post spawn. What reservoir?
  7. "Solid afternoon" I was actually expecting pictures of 12-15inches of solid ice with a couple sad face emoticons. Glad to hear otherwise!
  8. Casting distance is actually a fairly easy mathematical equation: y=fn/2+10 Where Y=number of yards fn=fisherman's yardage estimate In all honesty- a lot depends on- weight of lure, aerodynamics of lure, type of line, diameter of line, length of rod, and way way way down the ladder of importance- brand of reel. It sounds like you are off to a good start and doing just fine, especially if you say you are newer to BC's.
  9. I would- but that would also be $20 more than I would have to spend at home...
  10. Thanks- I think that was the realization I was coming to as well.
  11. Has anyone taken apart a Bull Shad and repainted it, and if so is there a good way to do this? I cant seem to figure out a way to do it. looking to repaint some in panfish options however not sure if it is even going to be possible. thanks.
  12. I don't see that at all...
  13. I don't think I would fish the Mississippi with anything but fresh skipjack.... but to answer your question- I would buy cheap stuff for that- I am not stinking up my house for carp...or any other species for that matter lol
  14. almost too simple yet seems like it would for sure make a difference. I think I may give this a try, thanks.
  15. I personally use Northstar hippy jigs and swear by them year round. It is living rubber, and it is hair. Is there anything more you really want in winter?!?!?!? In colder water I will only use no trailer or a small chunk trailer. Only problem is they open March 1st and I am not selling any of mine.
  16. Gambler giggy stick...should still make it.
  17. Also, I throw all kinds of baits in different price ranges, and while the returns on some may not equate that does not mean a poor investment if the end user is satisfied. I have more of an issue at the lack of return on reels over 300...but I don't fault those that swear by them.
  18. actually inflation, cpi, etc all very low right now and are not causing any monetary Fed moves. Ever changing, but not driving policy at this time in the slightest.
  19. I have used finger nail clippers to take a chunk out near the tail of similar worm-type swim baits and it does increase the movement on the tail a bit.
  20. I do from time to time. Mild but delicious.
  21. running WOT down the lake and suddenly the engine dropping 5500rms and alarms beeping. Gives me the chills just thinking about it again.
  22. 100% agree. I bet for that kind of money you could find more members here to "switch" than she would ever change her own ideals.
  23. I have hds gen2 at the counsel and smaller unit up front. For me, I have a swiveling ram mount just forward and right of the windshield that I can use while driving and then I can swivel it to view when on the TM. Doing it this way for me allows me to see what is under the TM ducer, and then I can see it again as it goes under the back. Not the best set up, but economical as well as I can get a second view from the back.
  24. I feel like I get some sort of BPS catalog every other day. I actually keep the "newspaper" type adds to help start charcoal- the "magazine" gets tossed with the rest of the junk mail.
  25. I fish alone most likely more than 80% of the time and am a fairly strong swimmer and have no issues getting in and out of the boat. (I have been in the water at around 50 purposely with friends...but in a panic alone that would be a different story) I only wear my life jacket when the outboard is on and it is connect to the kill switch. I don't feel I am indestructible at all so I should look into getting one of the mustang jackets. That being said, my greatest worry is going headfirst and being knocked out and drowning- seems like that's how most go and would be very easy in busy waters on the TM. So my question: if I were to get an auto inflatable jacket, does it keep the users head out of water in a breathing position, or will it just make my body easier to find if I go overboard and unconscious? obviously, very cold water maybe I should just get one- but I cant see me wearing it in warm water situations every time. Maybe it would just be like adjusting to a seatbelt law, who knows. Serious question here.
