  1. I recently posted a drag question and now I have one more. How many of you guys actually set your drag, and how many just crank "em" down as far as they will go? Hootie
  2. An NRX, WOW!! Wouldn't that be nice. If that were the case, I would have had a 1000 posts on in about 2 days....lol. Now, let's see..... How far is it from Cincinnati to Chicago....lol. Thanks for the kind words. Hootie
  3. Hey, I just noticed, I went over 1000 posts. Don't I get some kind of award for that? A plaque, or trophy. Maybe some free Seibert jigs. Now, hows that for fishing guys....lol. Just kidding, and gotta say I really love this site. Hootie
  4. You will not be disappointed with that combo. Better than a Super-sized Whopper combo. Hootie
  5. I am using that very rod for squarebills, and small crankbaits and find it to be excellent for the job. IMX MBR782 with a Curado 50E Hootie
  6. "One man's junk is....", well, you know the rest. Hootie
  7. This is DISGUSTING!!!..... I am not used to this topic being this CIVILIZED!!!....lol. Hootie
  8. I know why everybody is being so nice. YA JUST WANTED TO PROVE ME WRONG!!!!...lol. Well, I think that is great! Hootie
  9. You are absolutely correct, but I'm still getting 3 more baits than I was a month ago...lol. Ya take your breaks where ya can getum. Hootie
  10. This is a topic that usually lasts a few pages, and winds up in a big ol' argument...lol Hootie
  11. Yes, all sizes had the increase. Hootie
  12. I unpacked a lot of boxes of powerbaits last Friday while working at BPS, and all the bags were marked 25% more baits. Obviously not the 100 count bags, after all, a hundred is a hundred....lol. Hootie
  13. Has anyone noticed Berkley is putting 25% more baits in their plastics now? Thirteen 7" power worms instead of ten. Same with chiggercraws etc. Hootie
  14. From reading lot of the posts, I was starting to think you came here for financial counseling....lol. Had to re-read your original post. Hootie
  15. Thank you Goose for checking. Sounds like the same thing. I've done some google searches today and I have obviously been setting my drags to tight. I found from several sources, that it's not necessary to crank them all the way down. You would think after all these years, I would know that. Appreciate your help good buddy. Hootie
  16. Checked out the Cacutta 100B. Liked it, bought it. This thing is buttery smooth, and slings a 1/4 oz. practice plug a LONG WAY! Thanks again Goose. Hootie
  17. Just purchased a new calcutta 100b. I have to tighten the star pretty tight to get full drag. Is this typical of the calcutta series? Just checked my Ambassadeur 4600c, and it seems pretty much the same way. Guess I just never noticed before. Hootie
  18. And you call yourself an Engineer?.....lol. Just kidding. Just kidding. Hootie
  19. Actually it was the smaller profile that caught my attention. So, that part I like. I don't think the IPT will be a problem. You remember all the old Ambassadeur reels{5000 series} were 3.5 to 1. Then with the C series they went 4.7 to one. Have some of my best memories using those old SLOWPOKE REELS...lol. Hootie
  20. That's fine. All this information is very useful. I am going to follow your previous suggestion and take a look at the 100. I am working Friday at BPS, so I am going to pull one, and put it on a rod and see how it feels. Haven't had a round reel since the old silver Ambassadeur 5500c's. I really like the looks of that Calcutta. Thanks a bunch Goose. Hootie
  21. So, you really wouldn't use this reel for wormin, jigging, or spinnerbaits? Hootie
  22. What do you use yours for? Hootie
  23. You already have some great suggestions, so all I have to add is, you have an AWESOME family! Hootie
