  1. Just wondering, if I came to you with a 12 lb and claimed it was 4 lb, would you be ok with that? Hootie
  2. A wise man indeed. Hootie
  3. When you call someone out on what they say their fish weighed, what do you do. Beat them up, have them arrested, or maybe file a lawsuit? A little off course here, but now and then I'll here someone say. "I hate a liar". Isn't that self hatred? Everyone has lied about something, NO, many things. And if you say you haven't, you just told another one. If someone says their fish weighs 6#, and it's obvious that it weighs more like 4#, so what, it's really none of my business, and I don't give a big rat's ***. If your happy with your judgement call, I'm happy with you, and for you. "Call someone out", what a STUPID statement! Hootie
  4. What someone else says their fish weighed. Man,.... I wish that was all I had to worry about. Talk about carefree living. Hootie
  5. That's the stuff I hate. Hootie
  6. VERY GOOD! Rolo, you're like me, you're old. You're not supposed to know that much about computer technology. I am indeed impressed! You are correct, Photoshop is very expensive. My wife told me she wanted a copy, while she was staring at my Loomis rods. What could I say. Hootie
  7. "Lucas on Bass", I have that book. Hootie
  8. I know what you mean. It was suntan lotion, not sunscreen. I used it too. While I now do use sunscreen without fail, I am still not convinced it is as dangerous as they say. Not trying to start a sunscreen debate here, but if that was the case, shouldn't George Hamilton IV be the poster boy for skin cancer?....Just sayin. My 20 year old granddaughter has been treated for skin cancer, and she never spends much time in the sun, and when she does she ALWAYS uses sunscreen. I believe if something is going to get you, it will get you, like the professional runner who dropped dead of a heart attack, while jogging in central park some years ago. But again, you don't have to preach to me about using sunscreen, I do, and will continue to. Hootie
  9. I used to watch that show all the time. Going to have to get on YouTube and watch them again. Thanks for the tip. Hootie
  10. Just sitting here reading a Nov. Dec. 1971 issue of Bassmaster magazine, and reminiscing. I remember when I first got into bass fishing, there was no bassresource, no dedicated bass fishing magazines, just the occasional bass fishing article in one of the big three outdoor magazines. Then along came Bassmaster. I was fascinated with it. I think I got my first issue in 1969. The bass to me just seemed so magical and mysterious. I devoured every article and every bass fishing ad in every issue. I rarely caught any, but just couldn't give up. At some point, it all came together and I began to have some measure of success. These old magazines make me wish I could do it all over. I love the old ads. Old lures that are no longer available and most of the time back then I couldn't afford most of them anyway. But it was exciting when I could round up the cash for a new lure. I now buy whatever I want, and fish with top of the line tackle, but I don't think I have more fun than I did when it was brand new to me. Sorry if this is boring but I'm just an old guy looking back and remembering my good ole days. Hootie
  11. I have two red Ambassadeur 5000's that I bought in 1969 that still work perfectly and look as good as the day I bought them. Hootie
  12. Fished one day a couple of weeks ago, from 7:00 am till 4:00 pm and caught 8 bass. Caught all of them between noon and 2:30 pm. Hootie
  13. Absolutely, you could be sending rods back all summer long and still never wind up with perfection. Hootie P.S. caught bass yesterday with a rod that just slightly veers off to the right, from the top. Like you said, about a 1/16".
  14. All my rods are G Loomis. Hootie
  15. Thought Tiger's demise started when he got busted...lol. Hootie
  16. I wouldn't give it a second thought. Hootie
  17. That NRX is absolutely beautiful. Light as a feather and so sensitive that I believe it is alive. I don't know if you have anything to trade, but American Legacy Fishing has a trade up program that is very generous. That is how I got mine. With what I had to trade, I got the NRX, and a Shimano core 100Mg7 with less than $150.00 out of pocket, after all was said and done. Hootie
  18. I have a herd of G Loomis rods that I am very happy with. Hootie
  19. For the time you were out and the number of fish you caught, and the fact that you were fishing from the bank, I would say that you had an excellent morning. What you did was working, so I wouldn't have changed anything. Hootie

    My Day

Hang in there. Until yesterday all I was getting was 3 keeper days. Everthing just fell into place. The post spawn lull was over, it was hot, muggy, overcast, and a front was moving in. Hootie

  23. Only during the tournament. Hootie
  24. Teal, if I could double like your post, I would. Awesome! Hootie
