  1. I hear that. I have an NRX with a Shimano Core 100mg7 mounted on it that got a lot of rack time this season, simply because I was afraid of damaging it. When I posted my situation, roadwarrior, Alonerankin, and a few others quickly talked me out of that mindset. Spent the last part of the season actually using that combo, and...WOW!! How AWESOME. Sure wish I had used it all year, but, oh well,.... LOOK OUT NEXT YEAR!! Hootie
  2. I can get easily 15 to 20 yds. on a cast, but seldom ever cast that far. I am a shoreline fisherman, and fish close quarters. Rarely make a cast over 30 ft. If I am fishing a spinnerbait parallel to the shoreline, then I'll go for the long cast, and find that 60 ft is plenty long enough for me. I don't fish deep diving crankbaits, so I never find it necessary to be able to cast from the launch ramp to the dam...lol. Hootie Hey Josh, thought you might like to see these. Part of my collection.
  3. I can throw 1/4 oz baits on my PQ's all day long. Hootie
  4. It's in honor of a childhood friend. We always told him that he looked like a cross between an owl and Benjamin Franklin. We always called him Hootiebenji. That was my screen name until I just decided to shorten it. Hootie
  5. I have both but I prefer cork. It's the same thing with split grips. I prefer full grips, but I have both. If I really like a rod I will relax my preferences. Hootie
  6. Among other things,.....REPUTATION. Hootie
  7. How do you spell conceited? Xanadon't know. Hootie

  9. And you start relying on plastic money...lol. Hootie
  10. Always, sometimes great and sometimes not so great. Depends on whether they are having something on sale that you really want or need. If not, it's just another sale. Hootie
  11. Ironic, I just shot an elephant in my backyard this morning. Hootie
  12. WOW!...I need a hookup like that. Hootie
  13. Fishing the same lake, day after day and year after year. My catches are pretty consistent. I've been fishing my lake since I was 14 yrs. old and now I'm...well, I'm not 14 anymore. Hootie
  14. Do you think maybe someone bought you a gift subscription? I got mine yesterday. Hootie
  15. I use seaguar abrazx for my contact baits and red label for everything else. Hootie

  18. Being a former BPS employee, I still shop there. But we recently got a Field and Stream store, that's much closer to home and I've been spending a lot of time there. I also shop at TW, American Legacy Fishing and DSG. Hootie
  19. Because I can't dance. Hootie
  20. Again, John Powell. Hootie
  21. An old 70's B.A.S.S. pro, John Powell said that. Hootie
  22. My fishing season is over, so I won't get a chance to try this till springtime. Maybe I'll go out in my backyard and practice from a lawn chair. Can't hurt. Hootie
  23. I know pitching is a stand up technique. What I was wondering, does anyone pitch sitting down, or is it even possible. I ask because I am a sit down fisherman. Not because of my age, but because of a poor sense of balance. Me standing up on a moving object has never worked, not even when I was young. So, what do you think. Should I forget about it and just keep casting? Hootie
  24. I had a 5# 8oz. Bass mounted and it cost me $32.00...., of course that was in 1982...lol. Hootie
  25. Just noticed on the flea market forum, someone has some Gamakatsu hooks for sale. Tell me, what could stop someone from removing the Gamakatsu hooks from the package and replacing them with say, some cheapie BPS hooks. With the exception of Trokar, I can't tell one hook brand from the next. Not saying anyone would do this, but what could stop them. I wouldn't buy hooks this way. Hootie
