  1. Raul, the Mossyback is for largemouth. The Bronzeback is for smallmouth. But I suppose you can use either for whatever you want. A fishing rod is a fishing rod. Hootie
  2. Venom, Venom, and Venom. Oh, did I mention Venom? Hootie
  3. I have the Shimano in the large. Really well made, and durable. Hootie
  4. The first state I caught a bass..... a state of confusion. Didn't have a clue what I was doing. Hootie
  5. RW, I am looking for that binder and can't find it anywhere. Where did you get it. Hootie
  6. Mono is called braid?....I did not know that. Hootie
  7. Very good Zach. When I was your age I couldn't justify the cost of an Ugly Stik...lol. Hootie
  8. I have them all GL2, GL3, IMX, GLX, NRX. Sold the GL2. In my opinion the best bang for the buck.."IMX". If you are not looking to spend $400 to $500 dollars. I am, however not referring to the new IMX. One that I really like is the GL3. Probably won't get too many to agree with that. Just my opinion. I think the main gripe with the GL2 was not the rod itself, but the price of the rod. Most just thought there were better rods out there for that price. Like you said, "subjective". Anyhow, that's my two cents. Good luck choosing. Hootie
  9. Raul, you are just plain brutal...lol. Raul, off topic but are you a pet vet, farm animal vet, or an everything vet. Just curious. Hootie
  10. Concerning reels, I will say I never knowingly buy used. I won't buy anything mechanical, used. I won't buy a used car. I don't trust what someone else may have used it for. Just a quirk of mine. I no doubt have passed up some good deals because of this. Just the way I'm wired. Hootie
  11. From "THE BAY", I have bought fishing reels, tools, old magazines, books, dvd's, cd's. I am probably forgetting a few things. I always check out the sellers. I have never gotten less than I paid for. Better in some cases, especially with old collector books. Have several that were listed in good, or acceptable condition. After receiving them, I would have listed them in "excellent" condition. As the farmer said, "know what you are buying", check your seller, and you should be fine. Hootie
  12. And now, a word from our sponsor..lol. Hootie
  13. Booooooo! Hootie
  14. Used both, had no problems with either. Hootie
  15. Because it pretty much fizzles out after the first week anyhow. Hootie
  16. Just got the word. The fishing classic will be starting February, 6 and it will only last one week. It was typically the last part of February, and the first ten days of March. Shortened by 10 days this year. Hootie
  17. Just filled up in Cincinnati. $1.82 Hootie
  18. Bittersweet indeed, nothing else to say. Hootie
  19. Yeah, that's it. Well said....lol. Hootie
  20. For fiction, I'm a Louis l'amour, Max Brand, Zane Grey fan. Love the old westerns. I like a lot of non fiction. On the dark side of non- fiction, one of the most captivating books I have ever read, some 40 yrs. ago, was Vincent Bugliosi's "Helter Skelter". Probably because I remember watching it all play out on the news. The Manson murders. The details were chilling. Hootie
  21. No apologies needed there. Great way to start the year. Unless you're Raul. Then you get to fish. Hootie
  22. Sure there's such a thing as too much tackle. But who the *&*$#@ cares. I'll buy it anyway. Hootie
  23. This is that first day of the New Year. That wonderful day you start making all the phone calls. Calls to apologize, for all the stupid things you did last night. The embarrassing things you said, and did. You drank to much, you acted like a jerk, Probably broke some furniture in the process...."Oh the humanity". Oh well, have a nice day guys...lol. Hootie
  24. Now that's funny. Very good Tywithay. Hootie
  25. $1.83 now in Cincinnati. Hootie
