  1. I like this concept. Now when I purchase a new rod or reel and my wife gripes about me buying more tackle, I'll be able to tell her, this doesn't count. It's not tackle, It's hardware.....boink...doink.....boink. Hootie P.S. the boink doinks are things that she will throw at me, bouncing off my head for thinking she'll buy that.
  2. Uh oh, it's a drawing. That means one chance in about ten million. Hootie
  3. Did some checking and with a couple of emails I found out the jumbo has 10 bags. Replacements are not available but they said the Calcutta bags will work. Not a perfect fit but will work. Hootie
  4. Having worked at BPS, I can tell you that your chances are very good. They have a liberal return policy. Also if you have their rewards card, there will be a record of your purchase and price paid. And if you are merely switching it for another rod, I don't see you having a problem at all. Hootie
  5. That's it....I knew it was 2 minus something. Hootie
  6. Amen!....BPS ought to give the man an inexhaustible gift card. Hootie
  7. Goose, I vote for you to get that rod. What a combo! Hootie
  8. What reel Goose? Hootie
  9. Absolutely,.... better color, better scale formation, a more distinct lateral line. I couldn't list all the benefits of fishing with a Loomis rod. Hootie
  10. It's mine. Hootie
  11. Log off TW and step away from the computer. Hootie

  13. WOW!!....Thanks John, I feel much better now. Sorry for you though. Hootie
  14. Just sitting here listening to jazz on the computer, while watching the snow pile up outside my window. Supposed to get 8". My lake opens up in 2 1/2 weeks. C'MON weatherman....."KNOCK IT OFF"!! Hootie
  15. I don't think you are offending anyone. But to say, "Honestly, who would want to throw a weightless senko on baitcasting gear?", is like saying, who would want to do it different than I do. Ironically, a weightless senko is the one plastic you can easily throw on baitcasting gear. Those things are as heavy as a rock. You could probably throw one with a truck winch. We are using baitcasting gear that you apparently aren't familiar with. I wouldn't want to try to throw weightless plastics with my Curado 200 e6, and my heavy power rod. But I can easily, with my Chronarch 50e, and my IMX 782 med. rod. I have just recently added a spinning rig to my arsenal for this year. Both can be done, it's simply a matter of preference. I wanted to try something new this year. Who knows, I may come away liking your way, better than mine. But it's all fun. Let's go fishing! Hootie
  16. Sam, your jokes kill me...lol. How's this: An older gentleman looking to buy his wife a Valentines day gift was shown an extremely sheer piece of lingerie. $500.00 it was, but he bought it anyway. Upon presenting it to his wife, he suggested she take it upstairs and try it on. When she saw how revealing it was, she became a little irritated. I’ll show him she thought. So taking off all her clothes, she walks out of the bedroom to the top of the stairs, naked, and says, well how do you like it . It looks fine, he says. But you would think, for $500.00, they could have at least ironed the wrinkles out of it. Hootie
  17. Twice stated, twice wrong. A lot of guys use baitcasting for finesse fishing. I, for one, me for another. There, that's two right off the top of my head. Hootie
  18. A-Jay, that temperature is insane! OUCH! Hootie
  19. Can you imagine getting IMX quality for under $200.00 WOW, just WOW!! Hootie
  20. I gotta go with you on this one grinder, "They Ugly"...lol. Hootie
  21. Guys, you know what makes great fishing gear? This forum and others like it, mainly this one. We have these lively discussions and state what we think. You think the big companies don't read this stuff? We are allowed to say what we really see and really believe. The pros can't do that. They would lose their jobs. Who knows, had it not been for this forum and others like it, we may have been stuck with the Curado g series for a couple more years. While I may disagree with you and you may disagree with me, it's then up to the manufacturers, established and wannabes to sort it all out and give us a decent product. Thank you Glenn for giving us a soapbox. Now,"They better listen"! Hootie
  22. I don't know if a lot of you younger guys remember, but there was a time when "Made in Japan" was more of a warning than an attraction. Hootie
  23. If a thirty dollar reel gets you on the water, and you're happy with it, by all means go for it. I am wise enough to know that sometimes that's the only way. I know I am truly blessed to be able to spend pretty much whatever I want on my tackle. Believe me, I am not gloating, I am truly grateful. For, there was a time when that surely was not the case. Hootie
  24. It's not so much the $30.00 reel as it is, who made that reel. Shimano makes a thirty dollar reel, the Sienna. It's more about who makes the reel. The big name companies have a reputation to protect. The"unknowns" don't. Make a boatload of thirty dollar reels and disappear. Happens all the time, and not just with fishing reels. Hootie
  25. A wise man learns from the mistakes of others:... Otto von Bismarck OH YEAH!!....Steve Urkel Hootie
