  4. I hear that John. Boy, did I hear that. Yesterday I took 2 of my Chronarchs, E6's. While I was fishing I noticed one was really noisy. It occurred to me that this was the one I had put ceramic bearings in. Hadn't used the reel in about a year. Well, this morning I cleaned and lubed the stock bearings and put them back in. Out to the backyard to check. Casts quiet as a whisper. No ceramics for me. Hootie
  5. Oops, sorry. It's a MBR784 GL3. I have NRX's, GlX's, IMX's, their spinnerbait rod. But I just have a fondness for these GL3's. It's my fourth one. I don't believe that there's that big of a loss in sensitivity from the IMX. Granted, it's not a GLX, or an NRX. But it more than gets the job done. In my opinion, they are unmatched for durability in the whole Loomis lineup. They can take a lickin'. P.S. this is not the GL2. Hootie
  6. FedEx delivered a new G Loomis rod Tuesday. I went to apply U40 cork seal on the cork grips. Low and behold, the last time I used it I didn't tighten the cap all the way and it solidified. What to do. You can't just walk into a store and buy this stuff. You have to order it online. I did a little research to see if I could find a substitute. Found out about this stuff called "tru-oil." Available at DSG or just about anywhere that deal in guns. I bought some, put it on my rod handle. Seems pretty much the same as the U40. Handle has the same look and feel. It is a preservative and sealer. I think I'm gonna like this stuff. Hootie
  7. HEY YOU GUYS! I'M RIGHT CHEER! Fished Friday and Saturday. Didn't do so good Friday. Got stormed out. Saturday was another story. Caught 6 bass ranging from 13" to 16". Hootie
  8. Got mine in my hands right now, and it's not loose. Maybe I should send it back and get it unfixed. What do you think John? Hootie
  9. You tied them the fork, front usually. The spokes would rub against the balloon, like the cards. Sounded about the same as the cards, only more muffled. You would be amazed at how long they would last before they would pop. Hootie
  10. I did that. Did you ever do it with balloons? Hootie
  11. Yes, caught 6 bass ranging from 13" to 16".
  12. I was fishing yesterday, using a worm with a pegged worm weight. I caught and released a nice bass. On my next cast, I heard what I can only describe as a split second buzzing sound. On the retrieve the reel sounded normal. I checked my reel over and couldn't find anything wrong. This went on for about five or six casts. Just about the time I was ready to retire that reel for the day, suddenly I knew exactly what was wrong. I looked for the little rubber peg. It had slid about four feet up my line. The noise was that peg sliding through the last five guides on my rod. Put the peg back in place, noise all gone. I'm glad I discovered this before going to all the trouble of tearing down my reel unnecessarily. Hootie
  13. First time I have ever seen lettuce on a hot dog. Hootie
  14. Yeah, I was just kidding. My ocean in central Indiana is Monroe reservoir. I fished it a lot but haven't fished it in years. Hootie
  15. Central Indiana has an ocean? Is it Kelsey's ocean? Hootie
  16. Same here Catt. My fishing is best when I'm most uncomfortable from the heat and humidity. Hootie
