  1. Had to brag somewhere. Nobody on that 155 acre lake but me this morning...lol. Hootie
  2. Hey guys, I'm fishing right now, but I had to stop and share this. Eight o'clock this morning on a tube. A shade over 20" long, weight 5.4 Hootie
  3. Yesterday, I was fishing my favorite lake. I'm normally using heavy rods, medium heavy occasionally. Yesterday, I decided to take my medium spinning combo with me. I caught 9 bass. Seven on the the spinning combo. WOW! Three pound bass on a medium rod! That's exuberating. Needless to say, that combo is going back with me tomorrow. Hootie
  4. We celebrate number 52 this month. Hootie
  5. Did this just last week. I used mini bolt cutters. Cut the barb off, slid the hook out, no harm done. Hootie
  6. They usually go in my livewell. Hootie
  7. I've been hearing that bird story for over 50 yrs...lol. Hootie
  8. I Texas rig my tubes and short hop them. On my lake, color doesn't make a difference. Hootie
  9. I just thought I would snap a shot of a bass that my wife mounted for me in 1979. Now take note, that though over the years, it has become somewhat discolored. Also, I would like to point out that she had never attempted anything like this before, and never has since. They used to sell kits, that would supply enough whatever, to mount one ten pound bass, or two five pound bass. So she wanted to buy a kit and give it a try. This bass weighed just a shade over 4# on a butcher scale. I just want to say, all things considered, I think she did an awesome job. Nearly 37 years have passed and it's still here. Oh, and so is she, by the way. Hootie
  10. Just filled up this morning....$2.09....in Aurora IN., about 25 miles from my house in Cincinnati. Still $2.69 in Cincy. They said our prices were high, because of a refinery problem in Indiana. Funny how it's not affecting Indiana prices....lol. Hootie
  11. I use a wacky rig quite a lot. Mostly use Zoom centipedes, or Zoom trick worms. Hootie
  12. Texas rigged, cast, let it sit for a few seconds, then just short hops. That's the way I was fishing it every time I tried it before. I think what fired me up was catching that 17 1/2" bass on the second cast. Oh,and I was using a 1/4 oz worm weight. Hootie
  13. After all my rants about not liking senko type baits, I caught my first on them today. Out of seven bass, four came on the senkos. The biggest one on one. 17 1/2", one 16", and two 14". I guess you can teach an old dog new tricks....lol. Hootie
  14. I've seen or heard of a totally silent reel. Hootie
  15. Nah, not going to spend all my fishing time shopping, then when winter gets here, start complaining that I can't go fishing. You shop,.....I'll fish...lol. Hootie
  16. Cincinnati is at $2.74 today. Hootie
  17. The swivel works exactly like the Parasite clip, and it's a whole lot cheaper. Hootie
  18. Over thinking, can take all the fun out of fishing. Hootie
  19. Put your worm weight on your line, then slide one end of a #8 swivel on the line. Tie on your hook. Slide the head of the worm up the hook. Then take the other hole of the swivel and slide it up the hook. Then finish Texas rigging your worm. The swivel will make the head of the worm stay in place. Hootie
  20. When mine get in that condition, I take my scissors and snip about a 1/4" off the head of the worm. Clean head, worm a little shorter, and continue using it. Hootie
  21. This. I have them both and I'll take the 4 power all day long. Hootie
  22. Choking point? Sounds like where my wife lands when I tell her I'm buying a new rod or reel....lol. Hootie
  23. A whole lot of the articles I read in various bass fishing books and magazines define finesse fishing as more a presentation style than a weight issue. I mean, War Eagle has 1/2 oz. finesse jigs. That's hardly a light weight. Hootie
  24. Up another 30 cents over night. Sitting at $2.99 this morning. 8/13/15 Hootie
