  1. Ahh, the good ole days. When you wanted a "fishing" rod, you just went out and bought a "fishing" rod. Hootie
  2. I knew you would have an answer Raul....lol....love it!! You're the best!! Hootie
  3. That's almost like saying I returned my Hyundai Accent and bought a Porsche Boxster...lol. Hootie
  4. Hey Raul, are you sure? The OP is 47 yrs. old. I don't believe Shimano was making reels in 1968. Hootie

  6. I think he might be talking about the cap covering the nut that holds the handle on. Hootie
  7. If the spool is moving back and forth, the tension knob is too loose. Hootie
  8. As I said, it's never been a problem. Hootie
  9. Interesting, don't you think? Hootie
  10. I can't see why anyone even cares. Call it "action", call it "power". Call it "Leroy". Does that really ruin your day?...WHEW!!! Hootie
  11. Fishing season must be just about over. Hootie
  12. I have also noticed this in any bass fishing magazines that I read. The pros are always calling power ratings, action. Heavy action, medium heavy action etc. Hootie
  13. I oiled mine maybe three times this season. Even then it wasn't squeaking. If you dislike maintenance, "NEVER" buy a house. Rent an apartment....lol. Hootie
  14. Check on YouTube. All kinds of videos on how to do just about anything to a reel. Hootie
  15. I would probably say that you've heard wrong. That's without doubt the best BPS baitcasting reel made. Just the comments and reviews on here, never mind the reviews on their website. I am also speaking from personal experience, since I have four of these reels and have "NEVER" experienced a problem with any of them. Hootie
  16. I tried several times to upright that picture. All it would do is flop from one side to the other. No upright...lol. Hootie
  17. FANTASTIC!! Hootie
  18. A beautiful late October, mid 70's day in southwest Indiana. Fishing from my buddies big fancy Triton bass boat. Sure beats the crap out of those aluminum rental boats that I normally fish from. And notice, I am trying to smile. Hootie
  19. An almost undetectable tap. More like a slight quivering of my line. If it had been windy, I likely would have missed it. Had to fish very slow. Couldn't get any response on any kind of reaction baits. Hootie
  20. Xxxxzzzzz
  21. I hear you Bill. Been through the prostate cancer thing myself. I am officially a five year survivor. Other than that, I am in excellent health. Plenty to be grateful for. Hootie
  22. Bill, I know you say you're frugal, but I don't think you are. You don't buy high end stuff but you seem to buy low priced stuff by the crate. You've always got something coming in the mail. I'm not saying this as a criticism, because I don't believe you can be involved in this sport and be frugal. Some like to have a few high end rigs. Others like yourself would rather have a ton of inexpensive outfits. To each his own. Hey, it's all fun no matter which path you take. Hootie
  23. I have the G Loomis spinnerbait rod. It's 6'3". Hootie
  24. Absolutely, that's me with a big smile on my face....lol. Hootie
  25. Get that nice reel off that "DANGED ROCK"!!!! Hootie
