I have a spool bearing that I absolutely cannot remove. It's on the brake cover side, of a Shimano Citica.
I always use the cotton swab method. Push the swab in, pull the bearing out. The one on the gear side popped
right out. I don't want to damage by using a screwdriver, or a punch. Any suggestions?

Yes it is. I have catalogs up through the 80's. It's interesting looking at the limited selection of plastics, and colors. Probably only about a dozen different colors of worms.

Tell ya' how long I have been using reel covers. They didn't even make them then. I would pull an old gym sock
up over the rod handle, and over the reel. Worked great, and when "Real" reel covers came along, I started using them.
