  1. I have 2 of the G series Curados, and I am still waiting for the terrible to pop out all over them. Hootie
  2. Or this, Hootie
  3. How's this one. Hootie
  4. I've been using baitcasters for 45 yrs., and I have always just cranked my drag down until I can just barely pull line off by hand. I have never had a problem using this method. Hootie
  5. BPS stores will always match the online sale price. Just tell them the price is lower online. They will check the online price and match it. Hootie
  6. You wont be disappointed. I have the PQ 5.2-1 on a BPS crankin stick myself. Great combo. Hootie
  7. Now that wasn't nice! Hootie
  8. The only time I would hesitate to buy used, is if it had been used by Mike Iaconelli.....lol Hootie
  9. As DVT has stated many times, it's just oil, not magic. Hootie
  10. I usually have mine used up long before the original bag dies. Hootie
  11. Yeah, Yeah, Let's hear it from you Florida. As if I don't hear it enough from my brother. He lives in Tampa. You Florida guys are all alike, very, very, fortunate. lol Hootie
  12. Where then does that put, lets say, the Mossyback, or the Bronzeback series, or the technique specific series of rods they have. It seems to be, NRX, GLX, IMX, or nothing Hootie
  13. The comments I hear on this forum and others about the GL2, one would get the impression that G Loomis can't, or don't know how to make a decent rod for less than $250.00. I find that hard to believe. Hootie
  14. It's the worst time for me to by tackle, especially lures. I always get a lot of wild ideas of things I want go try, then wind up with a bunch of stuff I never get around to using. A rod or reel, okay, not baits. This time of year, I like to read a lot. I drag out all my old back issues of Bassmaster, FLW, Fishing Facts, Ohio Fisherman, some dating back to the early 70's. I like looking at how so many things have changed, how many lures have come and gone. The new techniques vs. the old. The contrast is amazing. I have old issues of Pro Bass, they evolved into Bassin magazine. I tinker with my tackle a lot, organizing and re-organizing. A lot of things to do, and before you know it, voila, it's Springtime again. Hootie
  15. I have both the Champion, and the Duckett. To me it's the Champion, hands down. Hootie
  16. X 2, no wait, X 10 Been there, done that, bad mistake, wont do it again. Hootie
  17. I also have one. It's a great rod. Mine is 6 1/2 ft. medium. Hootie
  18. The red ones (5000's) I bought in 1969, and the black one, (5000C) I bought in 1971. I bet you aren't that old.....lol Hootie
  19. A few more. Hootie
  20. Now, that's the answer I like. Keep life simple and fun. Hootie
  21. This is just a small part of my collection, and like you said, most of it not a lot of monetary value, just nostalgia. When I pick up one of the old combos and flail it around a bit, it really makes me appreciate what we have available to us today. Hootie
  22. Am I the only one who loves old fishing tackle. Now I am not talking about stuff you bought 4 yrs. ago. Ancient stuff, 40's and 50's and older, steel rods, bamboo, solid fiberglass. this stuff just fascinates me. Hootie
  23. Now isn't that a shocker....... lol Have a great day buddy! Hootie
  24. Like I said, I used the $50.00 rods for a year, and my son has used them for 2 yrs. So explain this, buy a new one every year philosophy of yours. Hootie
  25. X2, I had 2 of em, used them for 1 season, passed them on to my son, and he still uses them. Hootie
