  1. Can't afford it, spending all my money on SHIMAANOOS!!! I got 8 of those things so far. Ya home wrecker!......lolI just joined Shimanoholics anonymous. Hootie
  2. Hey guy!!, How ya doin? Hootie
  3. I have have never understood that concept. To me it just doesn't make sense. Seems the old addage "a chain is only as strong as its weakest link", would come into play here. If I am bass fishing, and happen to hook into a 30# flathead catfish, (I have done that before), he doesn't have to break 50# braid. All he has to do, is break that 12# leader. ........Splain Lucy!!!!... Hootie
  4. 2 of the first Shimano Bantam 100's. Gave them away. WHAT!! was I thinking!!! Hootie
  5. Once I get on my lake, they don't last long at all...lol Hootie
  6. Sure it's not 6'8". That would make it a JWR 803C. Hootie
  7. Notice how I am not disputing anyone's opinion on the Savvy Series rods? SEE!! I told you I was going to be a good boy!!....lol Hootie
  8. I got mine at BPS about 3 months ago and TW still has them in stock. However, I don't know if they are still being made, or if these are just leftovers. I'm thinking about ordering another one. TW seems to be limited to just a couple, but American Legacy has the whole lineup. Hootie
  9. Mine have the standard guides. I had a couple of Duckett Micro Magic rods. I gave them to my son. To aggravating trying to put line through those tiny guides. Yeah, I'm an old guy. But I know some people love "em". Hootie
  10. I have an IMX mh, and a GL3 mh, and I can honestly say, I like the GL3 a lot better. Hootie
  11. Dobyns Savvy series will bring you in at budget. Hootie
  12. The only other guys I would even let use my rods, are the ones that I know, have the resources to replace them if they broke them, and wouldn't be trying to make excuses to get out of it. Hootie
  13. I also have a GL2 jig and worm. Mine is the 803C. I like it just fine. Have a Curado 200G7 on it. Great combo for me. Hootie
  14. I used BPS, XTS Flourocarbon. 14#. Hootie
  15. My 200G6 just came in the mail today. Spooled it up, and did some casting in the back yard. I will be fishing it first thing tomorrow morning. I already have 2, 200 G7's, and like them just fine. Hootie
  16. Do you suppose, since they both had the same problem, that they could have sent back the same reel by accident? Hootie
  17. That is exactly how I did it, flux brush, and just turned it around by hand. Like everyone said though, keep turning it and checking for runs. Just brush them out while they are still wet. Hootie

    Grump!

Thanks guys. I feel better now. Hootie
  19. This is probably a stupid question, but here goes. When a spinnerbait is listed, lets say, 3/8 oz. Is that just the weight of the lead head, or the entire bait. If it's just the lead, that would put the actual weight well over 1/2 oz. Hootie

    Grump!

So, I guess it affects all of us eventually. Sometimes it actually works in my favor. I get grumpy at home and when my wife finally gets fed up, she says, "Will you just get out of here and go fishing?".... I win....lol "Grumpy Old Men".... hey! That would be a cool title for a movie! Hootie

    Grump!

Looking back at some of my older posts, I discovered something. I'm a "grumpy old man". So right up front, my apologies to anyone I have offended with my "grumpyness". Is that a word? And my appreciation to all on this forum for putting up with me. I'll try to put that part of me on a leash. That taken care of, I had a great day fishing today. 2 bass 5# each 1 bass 3#. Seven bass total, but those were my biggest. I can assure you, I won't be grumpy for a few days at least. Thanks guys, for your patience with a "Grumpy old Man". Hootie
  23. You’re right. I guess I do get a little thin skinned at times. Comes from the way I was raised in a society and a time when people were taught to be respectful and considerate of another’s feelings. That there are ways to get a point across without being condescending or insulting. I realize, that time and place are probably forever gone. I suppose I must accept that. But, “get over it”, I hope I never do. Thanks for the suggestion, but no thanks. Hootie
