had a bunch of luck here today on frogs worms and shaky head even pulled in a couple we got about 15 bass 5 crappie and got broken off by about 6 or 7 pickerel and caught 1 my buddy pulled in about a 4 pounder early nothing else much to talk about i missed a big one on my ultra light got wrapped up on a log it happens ! thanks for all the support on here im learning more about bass everyday

haha yeah i figured out why the bass where spitting it out they weren't bass at all they were pickerel snatching it not having it good i try to set the hook and would jerk out out of there mouth ! i lost 5 whit yum worms today by letting them taking it soon as they did the mono went snap with a little tug finally i snagged one and it was the pickerel haha caught a toad out there today at beaver lake i didnt my buddy did a little four pound lmb i nailed one bigger than that he got wrapped around a stump and got off so sad > ultra light is tough to keep them from going where they want but there is always next time i found some really good spots down there !

someone please fill me in on what a senko is looks like how to use it best place to use it ?

ok this is gonna sound like a tall tail but i have friends to vouch we where fishing over at Pocahontas state park the beaver pond not swift creek we had caught about nine my buddy catching one more then me of course i had to catch more fish so as the sun goes down i keep casting changing baits and tying to get another fish at this time my buddy is rushing me because we still have to walk up the trail to get back to the truck i literally said ok ok this is my last cast i promise! so i through my purple and silver 1/2 o boogie bait so i let it sink a little reeled a couple times and got the tap tap so i raised my poll felt the tension dropped the poll reeled the slack and bamm set the hook one problem it was an ultra light with 4 pound tess the line went the wrong way after i set the hook after about 5 minuts he got tired of running back and forth and jumping out of the water and headed right at me i finally got him in at about 10 min i pulled him ashore and i couldn't believe what i just caught not sure of the weight it was longer than 24 and not sure how many pounds no scale and not good at judging anyone have a clue where about it fits on the scale ? i hade a cheap measure tape maxed out at 24 still stoked not another feeling like catching a big one now im spoiled hate catching small fish now lol but here is a picture ;D tell me how much you think it weighed im curious im 6'4 300 pounds so take that into consideration

sorry i was confused i started with a top water frog caught the three it slowed down switched to the boogie bait caught two over a pound then once that slowed up i threw to a brush pile like 2 or 3 foot deep with yellow and white jig and caught the crappie pretty close together fishing makes me crazy i went yesterday to the beaver dam pond over at Pocahontas went to the far side where there is almost not place to cast there was so much tall grass and pads i found a little creek type thing but it seemed to be about 10 foot deep in the middle perfect it was hot but i would throw the top water frog on the pads and the bass would literally come blasting through or when it fell off they would nail it i must have missed 6 bass in one spot i felt like i set the hook good each time and they would get to jumping and bam gone frustrating ! still caught about 5 ;D

i went early this morning to this pond 1st cast to my 3rd cast all caught a large mouth bass was crazy they were all from .5-1.5 but was still fun with top water baits had to go to work not much to tell wanna try again soon 5 lmb two crappie less than 1pound

i caught a lunker a month ago at a private pond it was 7.6 i just feel like im cheating in a pond that people can go to with minnows and catch the same fish with no effort !!! but its always fun!!!! but its even better when you get on big fish somewhere big fish aren't pulled from ofter !!!!!

I've been to that pond and fished it hard a couple times nothing bigger than a pound caught bunch of small bass. If you go let me know the outcome sam

i have been wondering weather to try my luck at the pond at charter colony and Waterford was wondering if anyone one br has ever fished it if so any tips and any good size lmb in the pond ?

when you say insbrook is it right in front of thebuisness park and it got a fountain and near short pump and innslake dr?

i caught that one at that pond over by the dam on the other side of the park a week ago right at dark after catching a bunch of <1 pounders for 2 months there

when you go out of the dock which way is the dam ? what baits do you like out there and thanks a lot top water you use popers and what is a shaky head ??

i threw along the pads with white and red , purple and silver,yellow,and a frog chatter along the pads and brush lines ,i also had the trick worms multiple colors on around under the pads and even tried the worms around heavy brush tried sinners chartreuse white along pads have no pink or white worms is it a must have ?i also have no swamp crawlers and what is the shaky head method i did tr a couple different crank baits white fluke have you ever fished Pocahontas ? anything of size there thanks so much for your input

today June 13 it got in the 90s and was sunny / overcast i went to Pocahontas state park to try to catch some bass it has a ton of pads, brush fallen trees, and looks like there should be monster bass everywhere i didn't catch one fish the 4 hours i was there i threw everything in my box threw deep in cover banks i feel like i tried it all. does anyone else fish there what did you use and did you have success any good spots i can try or anywhere else lake pond wise in the area to try all help is greatly appreciated

i know of a couple ponds in va i was wondering if anyone knew of any good ponds in central va the couple places i know of seem to have only pound - two pound bass the highlands and Pocahontas park looking to catch something decent size please help !!!

i was wondering if certain baits work better in the warmer months and the best types of places to fish for large mouth once the heat sets in ? i am also catching a lot of 1 pound or less lately and tips tricks for bigger bass or places in central va thanks all help is greatly appreciated
