  1. The brand WAS tainted... Not the case anymore at All with the KLX OR Z Bone rods. I cannot speak for the Carbon steels I don't personally own any but it's not fair to judge a company on the past and not give them a second chance when they have changed a lot of things. The NFC blanks they use now on the KLX and Z bone are second to none. Dave check your inbox
  2. thanks guys the mount is great i had to do something because im running two 1198's at the console and i was not going to flush mount one of them i personally don't care for flush mounted units. To some they look better but i Had a flush mount on my ranger and you cant adjust the unit to the right angle for the sun and with a flush mount i was always having to peak over or under the steering wheel to see, you cant take them out so they are always exposed to the elements.
  3. Thanks guys I'm really enjoying her!! I will try to post some more pics later this evening it's a pain bc they all have to be resized!! I think y'all will really like the console mount I got on it
  4. Hey guys this is my new Phoenix 920 Pro XP!! After several months of test driving every boat this is the one IMO that outperformed them all. To be fair I even tested two brands I knew for a fact I didn't want. the only boat I didn't test was an Allison which I really didn't plan on going down that road anyway. i have rode in every boat and have owned skeeter, nitro, and ranger. I've been running ranger for awhile now and finally realized they are not worth the hype or the price tag. This phoenix outperforms my ranger in every way!! Heres a few pics of her.
  5. Somebody kill this thread please!!! This is just ridiculous

  9. easy fix. use a stanley double take hook and the frog WILL NOT ROLL at all, and it jumps your hook up ratio wayyyy up
  10. If its In a tournament and money is on the line you can can bet your bottom im going in!!!! I do have a funny story about going in after things. Me and my partner were fishing a tournament a few years ago and we knew we had a good shot at winning with our pattern. Well our pattern was crashing DD22's and Hot Lips into deep brush piles and stump fields and thats all they would hit! they wouldn't touch a jig or any soft plastics. Well about halfway through the day we had already lost about 12-15 cranks a piece and my partner only had 2 or 3 left. Well the next one he hung up he said a few choice words and proceeded to strip down to his underwear.. I troll over to were he was hung up and he grabs some pliers then grabs his line and swims down 20ft to get his DD22 back out of a brush pile lol. Funny part is he came back up with two haha
  11. i used to do the same thing I thought i don't need any spooling station!! until i got one and now i will never go back lol
  12. You can't go wrong with any of the cara's they truely well built and super sensitive rods. i love both those models but i have to disagree entirely on the throwing any kind of worm on the weightless worm rod.. maybe a drop shot or shakey head but thats it. But the weightless worm rod is one of the finest square bill and jerkbait rods ive ever used
  13. ive been fishing 10-20 fow the last week or two and have been on a real steady pattern of good fish.. but thats where i feel comfortable and i believe that has alot to do with the success you have on the water. For instance me and my buddy went out the other day we were in our own boats when we both got back to the dock that evening we both had 23-24lbs i caught all mine on jigs, c-rigs, and t-rigs deep, he caught all his on a suspending jerkbait. You said you have only been catching 2 pounders deep well thats all ive been catching shallow. I have been consistently catching 4s 5s and 6s deep. Holding a pattern is always more difficult in the spring just because the fish are all doing different things but for the most part ive been on them deep.
  14. another vote for the san diego jam it has never ever failed me and it takes about 7 seconds to tie
  15. these are the best wacky hook i have used its a owner wacky hook. Even though i suggest this hook for wacky i don't feel like the hooks your problem. Like you said you are a line watcher and alot of time line watchers never know they have a fish because the fish will just simply inhale it and not move at all. ALWAYS keep in touch with your line at all times!! also what kind of line are you using? if its braid i would switch to fluorocarbon, braid does not transmit any feel on slack line.
  16. alrighty
  17. crapppp.. well would suggest going ahead with it or do you think its to much trouble.. btw i really appreciate all your help
