  1. Hey thanx for the vid !!! I never seen Gar in live action before that was pretty cool !!! Have you used the camera for other studies? like working a bait and how they react to it?
  2. I'm not askin how you know that Traveler lol !!!
  3. Lots of really good advice guy's, i'm really glad to be a part of this site, I love seeing what works for everybody across this nation of ours !!!
  4. Ha Ha , I have spent a lot of time there in the past, I know how you feel about that ol' girl been there done that !!! Lake Anna is one ol' girl that I have a love/hate relationship with, no matter how much time you put in there it's never enough, one hint that I will give you is you have to keep in mind the power plant there, on the public side of that lake there is a reverse flow of water, if you are spending all of your time below the 208 bridge, the warm waters there will be acceptional for bass to roam, I have seen the thermocline be as deep as 30 feet in the middle of winter, and o2 rich water all the way back up to the nuke plant before, if you fish the lower part of the lake they will usually be grouped up and you will just have to find them, that can be a pain !!! Where abouts do you concentrate your fishing if I may ask? I am not looking for specifics nor GPS locations, you give me a general idea and I will know where you are fishing. If you wish to go over specifics then shoot me a PM. I will say this for her, you really need to SLOW DOWN, I know tournament fishing there and I have been in your shoes, most all of the hot spots are run over and over and over again before you get there, but keep this in mind, we could see KVD fish a brush pile, then Denny then Ike then Paul, all of them will catch a fish or two because they all fish differently, you have to be different as well, I have fished a rock pile in the arm of Anna river just before you go under the bridge to make the left into Christopher Run, I fished the old creek bed while someone fished that rock pile for 30 minutes, and right as he was leaving and I was picking up my trolling motor to head over there another angler came in and fished it he was there almost 15 minutes before leaving, I went there with a T-rigged lizard and just casted to the side of that pile and waited for over a minute before I moved my bait, I pulled not one but two 4lb'ers off of that pile in under 5 minutes, they are there and they are very very easily spooked, they will take their time to test a bait. Slow down when you fish under docks, look for the oldest docks you can find close to deeper water access, fish the grass flats at the splits with a drop shot, 15 to 20 feet is where you will have your best luck.
  5. Absolutely without a doubt the jig, there is not one place that I can think of that a jig is not one of the first, if not the first, baits in the water for me. It has become the absolute most versitile bait I have ever used, there is nothing in my arsenal that gets more attention than that of a jig, the T-rigged plastics are now a close second.
  6. I have to say I am more and more impressed with Pflueger, I bought a bait caster a cheap one from a friend for 20 bucks, I don't even remember the name of the darn thing but it's orange LOL !! I got to use it once this year and I absolutely love the way it felt and performed. I am very curious now about the reels and have been looking into their products more and more, the added web-site will be awesome to visit.
  7. I could not agree with this post more, I do not get why they are still so high though, it seems these guy's are riding the wave of profits and won't do anything about these prices until we do have another collapse in the economy, do they not understand that they are one of the issues leading us into this economical issue at all? As long as the prices are so high, so goes everything else, it cost more for food chains to deliver produce to their market places, Diesel fuel cost's more at the pump than gasoline does, almost 80 cents to a dollar more per gallon, yet it takes half the effort to produce, hence food prices go up, rubber, a petrolium based product has caused a big increase in tire prices, now it costs more to service these trucks to get food to the market so prices go up again, 200 dollars used to get you a full cart of groceries, now your lucky if it fills half. With all the rising prices around us, companies struggle to afford pay increases for cost of living, families struggle to make payments, the extra 20 to 40 bucks a week on top of what we were used to paying has to be trimmed from some place within the family budget, now this is all after we figure out the rising cost of health care, now we have to trim out even more from somewhere else in the family budget, I almost forgot, winter time is here, by the way fuel companies have almost doubled the cost of heating fuels for your house so don't forget to make room in your budget for that as well, honey the car needs an oil change and the tires are almost out of tread and need to be replaced as well, PHEW !!! Us working guys and gals are having a pressure on us that is difficult enough, second and third jobs stress families to their very limits, I can only imagine what the fixed income folks are feeling and the pressures they face, God bless you guys and gals, I sure as crap don't know how you all manage todays economy, I thought I was looking forward to retirement, I don't think the way things are going retirement is going to be an option. I would like to see a little role reversal here and let the people in Washington feel the effects of this economy and effects of their decisions on people like us, we work hard as he## for the things we need, I for one do not mind working to pay for the well being of my family, but DAGGUMMIT , give us a little room to breathe and have a little fun when we want would ya !!!!
  8. C-rig is my go to rig when I am exploring a new area I have never fished before, I love feeling out structure with this rig and getting a really good feel for whats down there, if I catch one or two on it I will start to pick that area apart with a jig, imo it's one of the absolute best structure rigs. T-rig, it's so versitile you can use it anywhere for anything under almost any circumstance and it will perform very well. IMO, I feel a lot of guys and gals have let the C-rig slip through their fingers when they first start out, the key to locating bass is structure, the key to locating and understanding structure is knowlage and using rigs like the C-rig.
  9. I have been fishing for 40 years trying to get me a smallie, One day I will have that chance...I hope, but I dream of that double digit LMB almost every night, I keep knocking on that door and I hope to someday answer it, so if I had a really good shot at that 12lb'er then thats where you would find me. Big-O, Im comin to see ya LOL !!!
  10. Im'a gonna call you out on that one, I remember a certain fishing trip you were involved in LOL !!!

  17. Far to sad in my opinion that we only recognise our Military on a calander date. For all serving, who have served, and their families, I for one and my family shall forever be in your debt, far too often some take advantages of our freedoms without knowing the price we have paid in blood to live the lives we lead, some try to keep us from remembering the horrendous acts of violence pressed upon innocent people from the past and those of current times. For ALL Military and families past and presant, We love you and keep you in our thoughts and prayers, not just on this day, but every day. God bless you all who have served and for those who are serving, God bless and come home safe !!!
  18. I don't get it LOL !!
  19. Wow, that deserves a medal for that act !!!!!...or a heck of a pay raise !!!
  20. I would have to agree on that one, that is the reason why I would much rather see them hold out, put some of that money aside and try to keep Laroche, as far as the O's are concerned, either Hamilton or Laroche is going to be a big help to them, I just hope we keep Laroche and you are able to aquire Hamilton. Casilla I have not been familure with, I get a few local channels and the only time I get any news of other teams is when I get the chance to get on the net, which is not very often, so if I seem behind on everything please forgive me, but what I have read seems to be positive for the O's !!! Since I got into this conversation late, I would also like to congradulate the Giant's and their fans for a really great season and wish them the best of luck for a repete next season, AWESOME ball club !!!
  21. By placing various targets around me in the yard, just targets are good help, but by using different weights and line sizes helps a lot too!! Stay sharp and stay focused, reading up on your maps and things like understanding structure too is just as important as your casting, imo, take the spare time you have and make everything count. Good luck and be safe !!!
  22. I wanted to comment on how good the pic of you two were holding the trout, but I think the last photo you posted is priceless !!! The smile on her face just says it all !!!

    :cry4: :cry4: I feel for ya buddy !!!
  24. Yea I heard that too but I don't know, he is the key to our defence and one element I would like to see remain in place, honestly if not for him I don't know that we made it as far as we did. Lannan, well? I think we could do without, Detweiler yes were good, as long as Stasburg stays healthy and Gio stays healthy it should be a good start but we will see, 20 wins I think he is able to pull that off as long as he has a good off season and finishes recouping. NO !!!! IF YOU GIVE US REYNOLDS I WILL PERSONALLY COME TO FLA. AND WACK YOU IN THE HEAD !!!!!! LMAO !!!! O's pull in Hamilton....hhhhmmmm, what a great addition though if you could pull that one off, good luck with that one though. How much is Sanchez asking anyway I have not heard yet? By the way talk O's all you want to man, I watched and showed some love over the years for the birds, as I told you before big guy, they were all I had lol !!!
  25. Jeff, If I may ask, is that your wife in the photos ?
