  2. Just give it to your wife, I am sure she will love it LOL !!! I will even send her a frame to hang it on the wall for her to enjoy, she can look at it and smile everytime the skins beat the cowboys, HA HA !!!!!
  3. Late fall around here includes primary points and humps where there is deep channel access, they are either staging just off those deep drops or have already made it to their deep water haunts, NJ is just North of Va, we have seen some cooler weather but I think you have been cooler than us, if surface temps are in the 40's I would be looking deep channels, if they are warmer chances may be that they are still on those humps and deeper primary points especially if they have some good cover close by, plastics and rattle traps were working in 40 foot range this past weekend here in deep creekbeds where there was a strong vertical drop.
  4. I'll take two !!!
  5. By the way it is 4 to 4 on the votes on SML and the Potomac, with one for the Occoquan !!! We will have a great time so get your votes in !!!!
  6. Yea, it say's a lot alright LOL !! it said... SON OF A !!!!!!!!! Yes I would definatly be in the kitchen with your wife, if I could learn to cook half as good as that girl, I would concider myself an accomplished chef, but non the less still a sou chef next to her cooking !!!!! Tell her I would like to try cooking something Itilian if we should ever get the opportunity to do that again for me please. Learned a ton?, yes, a ton, maybe you were not paying attention to what I was, and it did not have everything to do with fishing either, also I lost something there.... RIP my Redskins cap LOL !!! I still say you yanked it off my head and stuffed it with weight as quick as that thing sank LOL !!!, it reminds me of the season they are having anyway SUNK !!!
  7. Zoff, Thank you so much for this past weekend, Saturday was a day I will not forget for a long, long time, you have an absolutely beautiful family and all of them made me feel right at home, you and your family's hospitality was more than anyone could ever ask for. It was refreshing to hear how much you all did together as a family, I look forward to the next time and hopefully getting our families together to enjoy a day or two together as well. As for the fishing, SML even though 6 feet low and windy as all get out, was still a great place to fish, we only managed two, one I wish we did have a scale but I think we both agree that if it was not over 3lbs it was right there at it, Beautiful fish, the other roughly in the 2lb range still a very nice fish, both of us had one get away from getting under some cover and leaving us snagged in the end, which ironically I feel sure would have been our two biggest fish of the day. I look forward to the next visit to SML and I hope to fish with you again, you put us on some really good fish and I learned a ton !!! Again, Thank you and your family for a truly awesome day !!!!!
  8. No s13John we have not set a date yet. January 1st will be the cut off to find out where the meet and greet will be and then we will discuss dates, it's either going to be the end of August or sometime in September when school lets out so that the young ones can enjoy this as well, there is less boat traffic which makes the waters much safer for all who attend as well. We look forward to meeting you and we know you will have a lot of fun !!! Is the end of every month not good for you?
  9. First one huh? Looks like you have been at it for a while imo lol !! Looks really really good, can't wait to see the whole thing when it's done !!! If you were to compare it to any rod of choice, which one would you compare it too and what would the price difference be building the rod vs purchacing the rod at a retailer?
  10. Some of the best fishermen I know fish from boats like yours, they fish tournaments all the time and do well on places they know very well, but they also tell me they do not wish to fish tournaments on bigger waters due to the fact of safety, some places they go now are difficult on rough water conditions with their boat, they are limited to the areas they can fish when there is a lot of boat traffic, small boats are not easily seen by some boaters, and rough waters are difficult to navigate at times, there have been some close calls that they have had they tell me so they limit themselves to coves and bridge pilings. The most important thing to think about is safety imo, if you do decide to get a bass boat make sure it's a safe and dependible one, if your not mechanically inclined enough to be familure with an outboard engine, please have it checked out by a good tech, sounds as if you have some pretty good knowlage of things in general around marine equipment so you should be comfortable knowing what to look for. I too agree with Sloan, just don't rush a decision on which bass boat, look around and take your time !!!!
  11. Man, my wife is "NUTTS" over this stuff, she asked if I wanted to go, nope !!!, I'm goin fishin !!!!.....Brownie points or not, fishing is one sure way I know I am getting something wet and being rewarded for it !!

  16. I don't know about you but that comment right there makes me feel old LOL !!! I guess I should update that rig, but i'm just too old fasioned...or too old to give a crap...or just too darn old lol !!
  17. At this point brother, I don't care if we don't catch a darn thing, I have not been on the water since the meet and greet, I need the practice anyway, fishing with Traveler I hit most of my targets and I hit targets I ment to miss, and I missed the fish that hit their target, the ol' brain needs the excersize as well as the spirit, I just look forward to getting on the water and knocking off the rust and see if I can catch a 5lb'er or two LOL !!! I will just settle for being on the water.
  18. Well, finally looking to get in some very much needed time on the water, I am so out of practice it's not funny, so Zoff don't laugh at me if I hook myself LOL !! Zoff, I look forward to fishing with you Saturday, it should be a lot of fun and I can't wait to see what you can teach me, Smith Mountain Lake sounds amazing with all of the different things you have told me so far, I can't wait to see it for myself, I looked at some of it on Google but somehow I just don't see it doing the lake any justice, one cove had some really good looking amounts of lay downs, one has a ton of boat docks, one has some really good looking rocky features, it seems no matter where I looked there were lots of possibilities. I am going to rig up my rods tonight and double check everything, I will see you on Saturday morning bright and early sir !!!
  19. Clint Eastwood is my all time favorite actor, I have a CD of that movie and a bunch of others, there is no more real TV that I watch any more due to the shift in what they think viewers want to see, it's come to a point that I no longer watch television or go to the movies. Everything it seems has gone away from family and whats right and wrong but this is only my opinion and the way I look at things.
  20. Same here, I have a nuke plant lake I fish year round, it could be freezing outside and the water temp still in the 60's and high 60's. As long as you keep the engine in the vertical position you should be good, a little Startron in the fuel, and the batteries are kept surface charged you should be fine. If the weather gets cold and stays cold, like below the freezing mark for an extended period of time, I always bring my batteries in from that enviroment, if you know you won't be starting your engine for an extended period of time, I always fog the engine before storing it for the winter as well.
