  1. There are only 98 Confirmed Largemouth that live in the waters of Maine. Nate was bound to double one up sooner or later.
  2. TOP picture before GF moved in BOTTOM after...
  3. Fisherman looks decidedly grumpier... It's the same one for sure.
  4. Ooooooold Strike King Timber King! Ps I will buy these if you have any.
  5. 25lb Maxima. IMHO the perfect swimbait line.
  6. I guarantee it's a bad batch. I use 8lb on my TW/Jerkbait rods and only ever break off (knock on wood) due to Pike. I use a Trilene knot, but don't see how that could be of any significance.
  7. My Auto/Manual Cabela's model just went off in the trunk of my car Saturday night or Sunday Morning. Saturday I had a tournament, it was sunny and 80, not even a drop of rain... I always keep it in the garage when not in use, that night was the first time I didn't unpack and just went in after a tournament. My understanding is that humidity and heat will set them off (IE Hot days in a closed boat locker could be enough).
  8. The "individuals" Siebert and DVT.
  9. 20lb sniper should be fine. I actually didn't mind 20lb super fc... management is a non issue when dealing with 1oz plus. I use a Lamiglas Excel 2 735 which has the perfect action for big-rigging. I know you are a Dobyns guy... their 735 is pretty close (I have fished both).
  10. Up here it's 20lb Abrazx main line with a mojo/phenix/cylinder weight, glass bead, Spro swivel, 17lb Seige leader. If you are fishing rocks/zebra mussels, 15-40ft, big winds... I've lost 3 rigs in 2 seasons with this set up and won several tournaments with it.
  11. My bet is the TWS Zillion becomes some sort of Tatula... Just a hunch. The Fuego (new one) is a Sexified Lexa by the looks of it.
  12. Details? I agree with you on the Tatula
  13. Shaky head, flick shake, neko, Carolina Rig. I've even flipped them.
  14. We've had a guy win AOY several times with it. Got to the point that he carried 3 rods in the boat, 2 were identical spinning rods rigged with a 3.75" Yamamoto Craw. Gary Yamamoto knows him by name with the number of craws he bought. LOL.
  15. Cut off the middle paddle. Fantastic Carolina Rig bait.
  16. Carolina Rig a (Speedcraw/Rage Craw/Fluke/French Fry/Keitech).
  17. Pike lose their cool points once they've eaten a few Lucky Crafts. If you are fishing deep and fish are blasting baitfish on the surface, you can put a stinger hook on the shank of the main hook.
  18. 5/0 Weighted Hook. (1/8oz ish) Fish like a fluke with much longer pauses (so it flutters like a spoon/dying fish). Caught a few nice fish on them, Pike magnets though...
  19. Harriman Res has a good population of Smallies but they move deep in the summer and can be hard to find there. The CT river is LOADED with them. Lake Morey is a good spot too. St. Catherine and Dunmore have healthy populations too. I spent many a summer racing mountain bikes down at Mt Snow and Killington so I am familiar with your area. Regarding fish in different parts of the country acting differently that is sort of true. It's not enough that I would not read/watch how a guys whacks them in a deep Cali Res and figure out how to adapt it to where I am. A fish is a fairly simple creature, it wants to have babies, and eat in comfort. So your job is figure out where they have figured out how take in the greatest amount of calories for the fewest amount burned. Techniques that work up here: Spring: Pointer Jerkbaits and Keitech Swimbaits Summer: Tubes, Shakyheads with little craws, Carolina Rigs with speedcraws, football jigs, and senkos. Fall: ALL heck breaks loose and fish with any of what I listed. Last October 12th I got BIG smallies from a spot where you cast East and your bait is in 4-6ft, cast West and you are in 40ft. We crushed them in 40ft with rigs and shallow with Pointers. This sort of brings up another point... Smallies up here are Fickle and as annoying as Teenage girls. One day they are shallow eating fish, then a day later they are in 30' eating craws and will not be back up shallow for days. If you ever make it up north let me know.
  20. Amp and Lightning Rod Shock are great treble rods for the $
  21. May I suggest bar tape from a bike shop. Much lighter than tennis grip. Tons of Colors. Available in vinyl, cork, synthetic cork, carbon, & leather.
  22. Seymour... may be to late for this year though as the bigg'uns have gone deep. Green River Reservoir will surprise you. Boat is nearly done... get your Carolina Rig ready...
  23. And again with no industry standard for xf or f... one company's xf is equal to another's f. The above explanations are correct but you should still try to get your hands on the rods that you are interested in.
  24. Senkos, small jerkbaits (Pointer65 and 78), Tubes.
