  1. Make sure you get the NY and Canadian Licenses as well as the Ontario Sportsman card. Check the tackle shop in Clayton, NY (forgot the name) for good guides. If I may give some unsoliciated advise... Small brighter senkos and 1/2 & 3/4oz drop shot weights.
  2. GLX 854 (your MH/F) AMAZING jig/t-rig rod the EX6 you mentioned AND whatever your budget can support model-wise, but an "843" is a good rod all around blank from Loomis.
  3. Dreamcatchers...
  4. 19lb smallie bag says otherwise. Sandy bottom, windy so the visibility was not awesome and they spawn deep up here (8-15'). We could see something down there. Fan casting all over and pop it back. Gulp gulp gulp.
  5. Big Carolina rigs for spawners. Finessing a bed fish is like a peeping tom in your window... Tolerable if you were busy. A big rig dragged through a bed is like a truck coming through your bedroom... You're gonna react fast, and so do the bass.
  6. Chartreuse shad Ghost minnow Aurora Blue MS Crack Clown
  7. Watermelon gold flake if you have Perch in your waters.
  8. This makes a lot of sense. Spring sale at bps is also about a month away... And no bass will be biting in Mass between now and then.
  9. Tons of boats in a 4 hour radius of you: http://vermont.craigslist.org/boa/5960569279.html http://vermont.craigslist.org/boa/5955806935.html http://vermont.craigslist.org/boa/5945148449.html http://vermont.craigslist.org/boa/5913549536.html. Steal! http://vermont.craigslist.org/boa/5858204454.html
  10. 16 lb Sniper 14lb Gamma (really 17lb)
  11. ebay the blue seal 4x7x2.5 bearings. never an issue and dirt cheap
  12. I looked long and hard at this rod, my understanding is that the action is based off of the the Steez Megatop rods (nearly identical specs). Here's a review from a few years ago of that rod to help you understand it. My analogy would be if you could take a 3 piece Medium powered travel rod and replace the top section with the tip from an UL rod. http://www.tackletour.com/reviewdaiwastzmegacast.html
  13. Good idea. All the good stuff is on our side anyway...
  14. Yeah they are starting to cross the names over between cycling and fishing products. I think I'm reading BIKE magazine again sometimes with their names... Ultegra means "Ultimate Integrity" Dura Ace is "Durable Race" Nexave Tiagra Alivio means "I'm a gonna A LEAVE YO a$$ in the woods" (it's LOW end Mtn components that broke all the time)
  15. Sammy Super Spook Shower Blow 105 Buzzjet
  16. I'd bite the bullet, sales galore are coming and the constant cycling of bringing it back and forth is going to be an issue at some point.
  17. I think it's OK except for Inland Sea and Missisquoi Bay. We have vt licenses for tournaments out of ny. This means we are in possession of fish on the NY shore without a ny license and it's ok.
  18. I use a 7'2" MH Reg Daiwa Tatula with a Daiwa TDZ, 30lb power pro with a 16lb sniper leader to throw 4.8's on 1/8-1/4oz screw lock hooks. Slower ratio helps me crawl them.
  19. 7 year old girl... 4'8" 77lbs... 3 year old girl... (Avatar background) that was thrown out of an ISIS training camp with a sternly written note.
  20. A Fuego CT is coming in March... $99
  21. That's not what I am saying. And I agree to a point about the cost of production.
  22. I hide in the bathroom from my kids a lot. I figured out a lot of navionics functions.
  23. Make sure you go to the icon in the lower left and switch it to Sonar Chart. Way more detailed.
  24. Plastic/Thermoset/Thermoplastic/Carbon/Graphite etc. aren't inherently bad. Plenty of big trolling reels out there that are Graphite are run for years or even decades. With that family of materials though, when something fails it gives no warning or yield beforehand. Whereas "Metals" do, thus giving you some warning to replace the part or be careful (IE stem/neck of a spinning reel). That more than anything is what makes the "Metal Frames" more advantageous. Stiffness? well that's not really true... Aluminum is used in 747's wings flex up and down 6' over the course of a flight... and that same wing will fly for MILLIONS of miles. Even Aluminum is used in diving boards, so it flexes a lot and is still strong. A composite bicycle frame can be worlds stiffer than any steel or aluminum frame, it's all in how the materials are applied to a structure. This shouldn't be about Daiwa vs Pflueger vs Shimano vs Carbon vs Alu. vs Lews vs. bamboo vs rice paper... because that's all sort of pointless. the producers of a fishing reel have engineers that are exponentially smarter than us and know what they are doing as far as applying materials to a structure for a specific use.
  25. AWESOME... lol
