What trailer? a 4.8 Keitech is .4oz. That 3/8oz jig and a trailer quickly gets close to 3/4-1 oz. I had a 734 Champion and it was too light for me to throw a swimjig of that size. My 735 Fury works, I am in love with the 7'2" Daiwa Tatula MHR for that sort of bait.
Fish will be swimming.
Hortonia is a prototypical largemouth pond. Frogs, flipping, weedless swimbaits and senkos.
Bomo should be the same in the shallows. Smallmouth will have moved out deep, dropshot and Carolina Rigs for them.
Ti are of Champlain should be the same as Hortonia.
My Typhoons (no idea what model) are in the lake... any big heads out there with suggestions for sunglasses? Preferably with room for a shnoze that's been broken a couple times.
Thanks all
Pads will be few and far between at that time, weeds should be around. Weeds in the lake in general this year will be a little goofy. 2 years ago it was average, still recovering from 2011 floods. Last year was nearly record low, so a lot of what were weedbeds were dry land. Weed beds were further from shore than normal. Now we are back up to slightly higher than average. Down in ti where the water doesn't let a lot of light penetrate, the weeds at least early on might be a bit behind. They are chomping down there now.
If Shimano is out of them at the warehouse that's one thing, but to say they CAN'T order it is BS... That's like saying they can't get a spool of Trilene. It's a $100 price point rod that is probably available from several distributers.
Canned Heineken, no skunk, pretty darn close to draft flavor, lower ABV. I live in the land of milk and honey beerwise (Founders, Alchemist, 14th Star, Lawson's, Hill Farmstead, Rock Art, Switchback, and Fiddlehead to name a few) and reach for a Heinie when I need to be even close to responsible.
Shore is pretty mich limited to the access area. There are pike around there. Water is 39-43 there now, should be a bit higher after the rain and sun. If you can get 20 minutes north to Colchester and walk the causeway http://colchestervt.gov/358/Causeway-5K-15K-Race
You can get a great walk in and get green bass, brown bass, pike, lakers and even salmon just walking and tossing jerkbaits.
Please dont go braid, especially with an XF rod. You run Dobyns? A 735 with 16-20 lb fluoro and whatever reel should suit you. Mono leaders (15lb big game). I rig a lot... lot lot lot lot, I run a Lamiglas 735 with 20lb Abrazx and 15lb mono leader.
☆Use a REGULAR offset hook on a zoom Speedcraw in green pumpkin magic. That hook prevents the hook from rolling over when a bass tries to pin it on the bottom.
☆Braid bows in the water and you spend a lot of the hookset pulling slack, or not feeling the smushy bite.
☆Look into mojo or phenix finesse weights.
But then there's Lowrance's "customer service"... my buddy has made 4 calls to them, and they acknowledge it, nothing ever sent or any call backs. Not returning calls is a bad look.
