  1. What's the alternator pushing out?
  2. One of the things I was advised to do was to drain the battery and put it on "bulk" charge...should take 30 min tops. Supposedly that loosens up the deposits on the battery plates. Heck, it's a battery that's 3 years old, it's worth a try.
  3. What's the voltage drop when the engine is running? I'm assuming you're starting out at 12.9V?
  4. I want the power in the butt section for fighting fish and I want a softer tip to allow the fish to take it underwater. You can really feel the rod load up. Once you have that feeling, he's hook....with a little sweep of the rod that is. ? Rod I loved that broke was like 5'9, medium power moderate to fast action. I know the 5'9 is an odd ball, I custom built this. My newer one is a 6'0er That's the same fish you always post with a different title...? I'm just kidding buddy, that's a sweet brownie you got there...I'll bet that took some life out of your ticker when that hit. ?
  5. I didn't believe me...? Articulating on a keyboard is not one of my better skills...LOL I do think you're on the right path and knocking on the problem's door. Keep at it man. ? BTW: Do you experience a voltage drop when your bike is running?
  6. I'm not questioning you're experience/intelligence @galyonj, you are far more qualified than I am the subject matter, that is for sure. I merely just threw an experience I just had with my battery issues. That battery was only 3 years old as well. From what I understand, a battery weakens the more you charge it. Cranking an engine does require more current than turning on and running a trolling motor. I hope you find the solution to the problem though. I do think you're on the right path. Good luck my friend. ?
  7. I'm by no means a mechanic. I went through this last summer. I've got mixed advice about "trickle charging" some say good others say don't trickle charge, go the other way. Ok, whatever. Has the battery sat in the boat for 3 years straight? 3 years for a boat battery is kind of pushing it in my opinion? My battery was testing 12 plus volts on a trickle but would drain out and not recharge. I wound up with a new dual purpose battery and was fine the rest of the season. Again, I am by no means a mechanic, I use a different hammer. ? ... I really think the problem lies in the battery based on the outputs you're getting from the tests you ran.
  8. I personally haven't. It might be time to take it into the shop.
  9. Back in the 90's early part of the ought 2000's it was common to see a couple of strands tied on each side of a jig or spinnerbait.
  10. ^^8^^ As a kid I was always a Ringo fan
  11. Good stuff man. Sorry I’m in “like” purgatory today. Gave too many out. I do well with bright silver and green lil cleo’s. Silver and blues as well. Mostly bass and trout will hammer 1/3 oz spoon. I don’t do well with reds or orange in any lure. If I go light colors it’s always predominantly white. Blues, purples, green and black are probably the only 5 colors I fish. Mostly a confident thing. Great post. ?
  12. I’m sure you are JF, no doubt...?
  13. I can honestly say I’ve never fished a daredevil spoon. I’m so hooked on lil cleo’s, it’s hard to switch. Now all you guys who swear by red and white spoons, are you fishing other types of red and white lures? Or just this spoon? Just curious, for whatever reason red just doesn’t work for me.
  14. WTG @BigEyedF11sh! Oh man, you were like 4 miles from my house. Lemme know next time you’re down in the hood. ?
  15. ^^^Then^^^^ And now: ?

  18. C'mon now A-Jay...free?...There wouldn't have been a Lund in your future. ? I'm good at a 4-5'er thank you...but, then again, I'm not 20 y/o anymore...? Nice pic buddy!
  19. I bet that the guys who make a living at finding fish would welcome such electronics. Could be a guide or a guy who catches fish for a living for sale at market. I understand the "sporting" aspect but there's 2 side to the coin.
  20. HAHAHA...I like it! So many ways to go with that. I can go really clean with it and do something like: Oar Knot Sorry, I'm still in "Like" purgatory
  21. Sorry, I'll feel like I got banned...? Afloat...hmmm We're still toying with ALoan Again Although, I like it. ON LOAN AGAIN...I think there's something there
