  1. Ended up taking it down. I noticed the ground on the fan was disconnected from the incoming ground. It was fine though. I was able to get 3 in 1 oil on top and bottom without much fuss. She now spins with a little more giddy in the giddy-up and is quieter than ever. I’m getting some mileage out of a fan I bought in 1995. I wonder if the bearings were just dry....hnmmm ?
  2. Mid-day when the sun is higher, it will give those rocks a chance to warm up a bit and the fish will come in. Football jigs and (name your favorite trailer here, as long as it a craw type) should work. Surface temps will warm a little mid-late day. That doesn't mean a topwater bite, but a floating jerkbait or slug-go type soft plastic fished slowly may work. And of course it's spring time fishing so go old school and toss out some lizards.
  3. Try to mimic a craw. Craws seem to be out and about more in the spring. At least that’s been the “book” on them. So for a fairly sparse area with rocks it’s hop/dart and pause. For weeds it’s more like just trying to navigate through. I think where most anglers go wrong in weeds with not only a jig but any bottom dwelling bait is they try to force the navigation by popping the rod to get out of the snag. I found that if you try to finesse out of it you have better success at a strike. That’s just me, I’m sure there are other ways to fish weeds.
  4. Pearl white w/gold blades.
  5. They’re great if you want to fish quick because the few that I got have undersized blades. You’ll need a few for your outing, the skirts come apart fairly easily. Last but not least, if your favorite buzzbait got mangled, the frames on the Wally spinnerbaits are perfect size to remake a buzzbait with just one bend of the spinnerbait arm. Make sure you save the buzzbait prop and rivet. So for 1 dollar you can fish with it and learn how to make a buzzbait.
  6. Nicely done! What a feeling you’re gonna have on the water. Probably more exciting when you catch your first fish on her! Congrats on a job well done!
  7. What he tried to do couldn’t have been done in a car let alone a boat. He definitely wasn’t in the same boater’s safety class I was in. Doesn’t look familiar at all.
  8. Not sure the boat is long enough for all that.
  9. I love that! I’m sorry but I gave too many likes out today and the site is restricting me to give more. I’ll make up for it tomorrow. So far we have a top 3 with a potential 4 running in my house. Loon A Sea A Loan Again Moor-Onz In the distance: Dirty Oar
  10. @Big Hands, it sounds like you're a good coach. Keep it up. You'll be amazed at how much you miss coaching.
  11. Nice one buddy...First one of the year? Shinahs...in my neck of the woods. ?
  12. I learned on a Zebco 33. I'd thumb down the button to cast like you normally would but instead of just letting go, I would thumb it down again just before my target. I set up targets in the backyard and did this. Then once I got my thumb trained, I went to my first baitcaster, a Quantum EX250. I had read about not overfilling the reel like @OkobojiEagle mentions in his post and practice from there. Once my thumb was trained I went fishing. Taught my son the same way and he was casting at 4 or 5 y/o at the time.
  13. Can I ask why you're looking for one?
  14. I agree! Nice one @Meowmicks Agree! 4-5 lbs for sure...maybe more! I honestly would wait a bit, but I'm a little conservative. In all honesty, you're really only a month away. Why take a chance.
  15. Almost time for a Gin Rickey.
  16. So true. Boat dealers can't even keep a used inventory.
  17. These days, timing is when I can actually get time to myself and do what I want. If that means getting out on the water then so be it. When there I let the timing of setting the hook, moving to a new spot and changing lures take care of itself. Unfortunately, timing of the above seems to be much easier in the winter when the ponds and lakes are frozen. ?
  18. That's funny, I thought the same exact thing! ?
  19. 73* yesterday and 60* today. Waters are opening up. Next few days are 40*'s with 2 overnight lows in the teens. We're gaining on it
  20. You trying tp say I'm not friendly to you?? Property taxes in NH will make you puke.
  21. Hey Rich, Given my eye condition, I try for close. Meaning, the tag end will be maybe 1/16" - 1/8" from the knot. Does it pick up weeds and whatnot? Yes, but I went the other way and cut so close that it still picked up weeds and whatnot. I also had knots let go with no tag. Now I leave a little because, again, my eye sight doesn't allow me to cut real close and now I have piece of mind that the knot won't let go....as easy. Good luck. ?
  22. Lemme know how you guys make out. Good luck boys.
  23. It's always good when you can work with friends or even siblings. The only thing bad about it is, trial and error can get expensive. The beer at the end of the day usually tastes great though. ?
  24. Me thinks you should stay with lake home renovations, they seem to be more fun...LMAO
  25. Sounds cheaper than an alternator
