It’s been a while since I did a charter, but it was a ground fishing charter out of Kennebunkport. We went out of the Kennebunk River and went to Jeffrey’s ledge and caught cod, haddock, pollock, cusk and I think even a wolffish.
The captain had a rod and real ready in case we had an occasional shark swim by. Mako and blue are the usual ones in that area with great whites making their presence up here the past few years.
It was a fun trip none the less.
Striper and blue fishing is a totally different technique than ground fishing so that is done by guides who strictly target them.
You’re really gonna enjoy that trip for sure.
I’m mostly ground fishing up here in Maine but do switch over to striper fish when the seas get amped up. Yesterday was really lumpy out there and we turned around when we started seeing whitecaps. Went back into the bay and had fun with schoolie stripers.
Good luck!
