  1. I bought mine sometime after Labor Day 2020, matter of fact I think it was early October when I put a down payment on it to get built. Perfect time IMO. After Labor Day into Christmas - depending what part of the country you're from - is when people winterize their boats and contemplate on weather they want to upgrade or even being a boat owner any more. But, like anything, you've got time to keep your eye out there in case a good deal comes along. Congrats on the marriage.
  2. Are you looking for products where materials are sourced, fabricated, machined and assembled here? That's a tall order. I'm sure they're are some manufactures out there, but a 100% product maybe be out of reach IMO. Rod: Rod Material. cork/eva grip, guide materials, thread for guides, ceramic inserts for guides, epoxy for grip and guides (2 different epoxies are used), rod finish paint, decals and what not. I'm sure I'm missing something here and within those items listed, there are some things that need to be considered. Not to mention the equipment used to make the rod. Reels: Way too many to list.
  3. Wow, that post just made me certifiably old school.
  4. My next 45K I spend will be on a bigger boat. Interesting though. My question is, is there a door in front of the trailer to get in or do you have to get soaked and enter from the rear? I may have missed that.
  5. I'm must be real old school, I fish single blades.
  6. It's very hard to keep it G-Rated MN...
  7. A monastery is in financial trouble, so it goes into the fish-and-chips business to raise money. One night a customer knocks on its door. A monk answers. The customer asks, “Are you the fish friar?” “No,” he replies. “I’m the chip monk.”
  8. I was kind of alluding to that area, but once again, you explained it much better than I.
  9. The roof doesn't look all that bad. You made the repair at the mortar wash on top of the chimney. Now, take a wire brush and clean the growth on the side of the chimney and see if those mortar joint are pretty sound. You may or may not encounter holes. Once you're down, take a garden hose to the top of the chimney, you'll know quick enough if you have still have a leak or not.
  10. Ok, is that what it is? Just check the flashing around the chimney and check the surrounding shingles for cracks and what not. Is there any way of getting underneath the roof (attic space) and seeing what's going on in that area?
  11. TnRiver46: "Who taught you to take a nap in the middle of the job?" Jigfishn10: "You did boss." How's the flashing around the chimney? It looks like there's a bead of black sealant that runs along the chimney and the shingles. Usually there's a piece of step flashing that starts at the roof and runs up the side of chimney. The piece of lead cap flashing on the chimney just laps over it. When I see sealant at the joint between the chimney and roof shingle it's usually cracked and no step flashing had been installed from the roof to chimney. More leaks will emanate there than the actual chimney. Hard to tell with just pics, but I wanted to point it out to you.
  12. If I were a betting man, he's talking about another championship for Tampa Bay.
  13. Back in 2010 & 2011 I found myself with not a lot of construction work. For the first time in my adult life I saw no cranes in the city. Construction activities was pretty much dead. I worked at a gas station from 11 pm to 7 am a couple of weekend days a week and immediately went to a hardware store to work an 8 hour day. The pay at the time was $8 & $9 per hour respectively with no benefits. The behavior of people was really eye popping. Especially in a hardware store where most of the sales people are in HS or college just trying to make a few bucks. Most come in trying to do a DIY project/repair at home not knowing what they're doing and expecting instant answers to their repair project. Some of these kids used to break down in tears with the way they got treated. I learned to hate working retail.
  14. Deep down I didn't see him retiring. For years he said he wanted to play until he was 45. This year will be that year. Please tell me it won't be that fiasco. How many time did Favre come out of retirement? 3? He changed his mind, he wants to play in New England 1 last time.
  15. Pick. They all seem to be decent reels for what you're doing. As far as cleaning, I usually take a garden hose to all my equipment that was exposed to salt water. Wipe down with a towel. I have an 18V leaf lower that really get the reels dry, but not necessary. That's just me being anal.
  16. I've honestly haven't used Fat Cow yet, I couldn't find Otter Tail so I picked up Fat Cow for this season at a decent price at the beginning of the winter. If they're anything like Otter Tail, then they are pretty durable. You shouldn't have problems with stripers chewing them up as easily as bluefish will. Bluefish have teeth like pike. I fish in Southern Main and blues haven't made a presence for years until last season. Where you planning on fishing?
  17. Saved my arm today. I am enjoying a smoky martini. 1/3 oz blended scotch (Dewers White Label was in the house) 2 2/3 oz dry gin (Malfy Gin) Shake, strain and serve with a twist
  18. That whole northeast section looks real promising for early season bassn. You got deeper water that finger out in a few different directions that lead to spawning type flats.
  19. I actually go the other way and don't match trailer to jig. White jig, pink trailer, black jig red trailer, whit jig chartreuse trailer, black jig pink trailer. These are more baitfish imitations rather than craw.
  20. Wow, you look just like Aunt Bethany, no wonder why you one. J/k, man, you 2 look great!
  21. LMB. Actually, I never used a spinnerbait on stripers, have you? I mean, why not?
  22. I know you directed this to someone else, but he Deleted his account. The 3100 2 in 1 has 4GB. Not exactly gaming speed but good enough to white a report on bass feeding activity in Michigan. One other thing you can do is to check out kids who just graduated from the school, they may sell their to you.
  23. Miller Lite it is ... I might have one tonight just to save my arm
  24. I would get what will get you by, Chromebooks are pretty much useless after the kids leave school.
  25. Wished they made 'em like they used to. The otter tail jig strips are pretty good. I couldn't find what I wanted, but that was back around the beginning of December, so I bought Fat Cow for this season. I heard they had pretty good action. I'm toying with the idea of tying in rabbit strips (zonker). I used Zonkers on spinnerbaits in the past. Matter of fact, it caught my PB 8+ with it.
