  1. I agree. I did structural welding in college which would have gotten me certified, but mig welding is something I would have loved to have learned. @InfantryMP, that looks great! Wish you nothing but the best of luck!
  2. I used to pour jigs until MA banned lead jigs and sinkers. Was using bismouth, but it really didn't pour well for me. I sold my mold and supplies and now just by the raw jig heads and paint and tie my own. I buy my jigs from a guy who provides excellent service and can give me options on hooks that fit the jig mold at a reasonable price. Not sure I'll go back to pouring lead.
  3. Wrap a little Teflon tape (plumbing supply aisle) on the screw and screw back on. Should be enough to fill the gap(s) in the threads.
  4. Thankfully no. I did when I was really young and went deep sea fishing out of Gloucester and I'm guessing out to Jeffrey's Ledge. I remember it was a miserable day and the seas were very lumpy. I provided the chum line...
  5. 2016 Jeep Wrangler Sahara - Every day and tow vehicle. 21 MPG. Bought last October when my son got his license and I had an "oh ***" moment. He was promised my 2012 car. Soft top on it now.
  6. I actually never knew there was yellow bass. Looks fun to catch. Are they any good for the table?
  7. Have a great vacation bud! You left the door unlocked, right? Didn’t quite make it there yet to hijack the Lites and let the dogs out yet.
  8. I don’t venture on this forum often so forgive if this has been covered. Next door neighbor just gave me a spool. Pretty thin stuff. Thoughts?
  9. Love the Fuego’s Absolutely perfect for what my son and I do. I turned a couple of friends on to them.
  10. On the opposite side of the guide you can carve the epoxy and thread wrap down to the blank and you can pretty much pull the rest of the wrap right off. Guide should pop off from there. No need to be fussy, it’s a broken rod. The Spooling Station 3000? j/k How do you like it? I was thinking of getting one this winter.
  11. If the line guides and tip top on the broken rod are in good condition then I would take those off for repairs on other similar rods I own. The reel seat and lower half section of the broken rod can be used to re-spool reels. Other than that, landfill. I tried using sections for repairing broken rods, but haven't had any luck restoring them. The repaired ones work, but not the way I'd like them.
  12. Mid afternoon, just after ice out, overcast skies on a 1/2 oz homemade spinnerbait with a single Colorado blade. Thought I had a pic on here, but I don't. Watermelon over white skirt, olive zonker strip tail tied onto the hook, brass #4 blade.
  13. If that's all I have to do, then it's worth the 800 plus miles to your home...
  14. Are you fishing afloat (boat) or afoot (bank)? If afoot, what part of the lake are you fishing?
  15. Gonna be close to 100* here today, so me thinks a couple of beers in the pool after work are in order. I may make a run to Michigan and steel @12poundbass' Miller Lite out of his fridge. About the only thing with alcohol that will keep me hydrated. So, do you know what Miller Lite and making love in a canoe have in common? It's f'n close to water.
  16. Does look like a fox, but the tail says "no". Coyote?
  17. Happy birthday and fingers crossed for Mrs Hammer 4.
  18. For me, I stopped trying
  19. I used to take the rear treble off of a popper and tie on a 12" - 18" leader. Use a small jig or a fly. Pop. Let the rings disappear and pop again. I'd catch bluegill or bass with that rig. Ya know, I haven't done that in a long time. May have to redeploy that rig.
  20. At work it's quiche in a mug. 1 whole egg 1 egg white 1/2 oatmeal toast - hand shredded About 1/4 cup shredded baby spinach or arugula About 2 TBS of 1% milk 1/4 - 1/2 TBS butter Toast bread In a coffee mug, add spinach or arugula with about 2 TBS of water and microwave for 30 seconds Drain water Add egg, egg white, 1% milk, 1/2 shredded toast and butter. Microwave for 1 min. 15 seconds.
  21. Sad really; used to be a 6 figure salary would suffice. O.P. I think you answered you're own question.
  22. I've been incorporating a ton of mobility work into my routine and have found that lower back pain for me is usually tight hips and quads. Upper back is t-spine extension and/or rotation, tight lats and pecs. Usually the latter 3 really affects my shoulder mobility. Takes me 30 - 40 minutes on some days to take the necessary steps to unlock the tightness from sitting all day and get to where I want to be. Good luck and follow the advice from a professional and not some jig fishead.
