  1. Very Very NICE!
  2. Single blade spinnerbait - #4 colorado gold blade w/watermelon & pearl skirt 1/4 oz Jig & chunk trailer watermellon candy or black & blue 1/2 oz Jig & chunk trailer watermellon candy or black & blue Watermellon grubs for jigs Spook Jr.
  3. I'd rather go out at night, but these days it's anytime I can get out. Jigs and spinnerbaits haven't been working for me lately, but I am getting decent numbers by walking the dog.
  4. WTG XJMA! Nice looking fish!
  5. I heard the same thing. The guy I was talking to likes to fish live bait a bit north of Lowell and said the bite was slow and only schoolies being caught.
  6. Awesome. Thanks a lot guys. I'll give it a try. The few that I caught were a lot of fun. I hear they make good table fare as well is that true? I've never consumed freshwater fish only saltwater.
  7. I do not fish for crappie at all, although after today I'm thinking I will be in the future. I was fishing a Spook Jr. today for LMB and had at least 4 black crappie explode on and button up on my lure. I've accidentally caught crappie on other lures before, but I had no idea they would go after a lure that big. Is this common? Anyway, now I'm hooked on fishing for them, what are some crappie lures I can start out with.
  8. SWEET! Congrats, man!
  9. This one's a tough one. I've caught a bunch without a trailer including the one depicted as my forum pic. I've caught a bunch without skirts on either a single or twin tail grub, some sort of craw imitation and even a dressed jig with rabbit fur tails and chenille body (8th post from the top). http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1276262894/0 The only constant was the jig head, but I would prefer to have all 3 working for me. So I guess I really don't have an opinion.
  10. Very nice looking jigs, GMAN.
  11. Me Too.
  12. That has been killer for me as well, but I didn't want to tell anyone. Keep that between us please.
  13. By far, for a few sesons now has been a single gold colorado short arm spinnerbait.
  14. Anyone using single blade spinnerbaits anymore? All you see now are tandem blades in either double willow or small colorado in front of willow. I know the single colorado with a black skirt is a very good producer for night time fishing, but my biggest producing spinnerbait for a few seasons now and in any condition (light and water) has been a single gold colorado short arm spinnerbait. I can't explain why, but it has been really good to me.
  15. Heck yea it is!!! Awesome job, man. That's awesome...how can you not be hooked after that debut.
  16. Mostly a 1/4 oz jig with a pearl and black flake skirt paired with a curl tail grub in either smoke or a watermelon pepper. I've been fishing it just under the surface erratically over and around weeds. I like the way the pearl skirt changes colors in different light conditions. The curl tail, IMO, puts out a little vibration. If I need to make longer casts I'll switch to a 3/8 oz jig. So far so good.
  17. I'm in total agreement with you on this. I just started my 4th year in biz and have a wife and 2 little kids. Health insurance costs exceeding my monthly mortgage payments and a down economy, just getting out there to relax and away from life for a couple of hours doing what I love to do is a success to me.
  18. He's 14 and holds a state record...NICE!
  19. His smile tells it all...congrats to you and the lil guy!
  20. Congrats on your PB...
  21. AWESOME! Keep with it, they get BIGGER!
  22. Welcome from Eastern MA. Hopefully sunnier skies and tight lines are ahead for you and your family. PM if you want to get out and make some casts sometime.
  23. No trailer hook, but I tie my skirts with the rear part of the skirt long like a mullet cut. I believe that if I'm getting short strikes then something is wrong with my presentation and I'll switch either blades or color or both.
  24. I find myself fishing more of my older baits, Zara Spooks being one of them, but how could you not want to purchase some of the newer ones on the market and not trying them out? You'll be fishing those newer baits again in 10 years asking the same question...LOL
  25. Looks like it would have spooled ya... ;D
