  1. Good to hear @J Francho. Core strength and mobility are near and dear to me. Good luck.
  2. I forgot about the bucktail jig with a zonker strip trailer. Occasionaly, I may have put on a little MegaStrike from time to time.
  3. Lunker City Slug-O

It was exciting. Pitchers pitching to them were juicing as well.
  5. "You better believe it mister or you're dead where you stand."
  6. Man, you really drank the Kool-Aid You may have to go thru the 12 steps

What a great season he's having! I really do hope he gets the triple crown. Then sign a big fat free agent contract with the Sox this off-season ...
  8. I learned this years ago while reading an article by Bernie Schultz titled Charlie Campbell Walks the Dog. http://www.bernieschultzfishing.com/techniques/graphics/9406bm01.gif Thank you for your post and reminder. I forgot how about the technique and had to look it up again. Sorry OP, didn't mean to go off topic. But, seriously, I like them both.
  9. I collect a pay check and all the headaches that go with it.
  10. I was relocating to TN, coincidently, near your area, to renovate lakeside cabins.
  11. I'm at a crossroads right now. I've been in commercial building construction since I got out of HS. I can't say it's been bad to me, quite the contrary, but I'm at a point where I want to walk away from it and run the rest of my working days in a second career. I've always said I wanted out by the age of 60 which is a few years away. I've started the process on my second career and hoping to make the jump soon. Good luck Clayton, I have my fingers crossed for you.
  12. What a great pic!
  13. 90? That's actually embarrassing to publish that.
  14. One of the things to consider if you're trying to keep the blade arm close to the body of the bait is the flair of the skirt material which could interfere with the blades. Guilty of trial and error on that one...LOL
  15. I read or saw somewhere that you really need to pat whatever you're frying dry, coat with a thin layer of flour, dip into whatever wet mixture - beaten egg, I guess - then dip back into whatever dry - crushed cracker, flour, corn meal or whatever. Let sit on a rack for like 10 - 15 min in a fridge. Then fry. I guess cold food fries better. I don't fry much, but that's what I read FWIW.
  16. I agree with your opinion, my point was that blades spin at different angles. All good
  17. Mine as well, the water was 60* yesterday. The ocean in Maine was warmer. My boat is out and the winter ball is on the mooring.
  18. Sorry, I’m not so sure I completely agree with the above post. I will however, agree to disagree.
  19. More strands in a SB skirt, more lift. Put a plastic trailer on - anything like a ribbon tail, paddle tail, etc - it has lift. You’re right, drag = lift. Dismiss!
  20. I had to take a week off. Barbell felt like it was fastened to the floor. I needed a break. Just been jump roping the past few days. Hope you mend up soon! I enjoyed the topic. TY
  21. Elmer was from Michigan?
  22. I noticed on your profile that you like to workout. Have you ever squat - back squat, front squat and overhead squat? Take 100 lbs and front or back squat and compare it to overhead squat. You’ll notice that back squat and front squats are way more stable than overhead squats because the weight is closer to your base. The further away from your base the weight is the more your core has to work to stabilize the weight. Same with the blade distance away from the lead head of a SB.
  23. I had a feeling you wore one Elmer.
  24. The closer the blade rotates to the bait the more stable
  25. Ok, back down the rabbit hole @LrgmouthShad. Be careful about bending the arm so far. Consider this: A Colorado blade will spin in a 45-50* angle, Indiana 30-35* and willow 25*ish. So you can see if you bend the arm too far the Colorado will bang into the hook.
