  1. Welcome to the site.
  2. My guess is that he has no time now that he has a new addtion to the family.
  3. Welcome.
  4. IMHO, I would think your chances are very good, considering you mention that there is a creek channel. If there is an incoming current (I'm not sure if that's the case, but it's worth mentioning) which is warmer than the rest of the lake, then you should be able to get em pretty good. If the incoming water is colder, then I wouldn't spend a great deal of time there. One other thing, if the incoming water is bringing in a lot of silt and is temporarily muddying the water, then the bite could really slow down. Good luck either way.
  5. If you push the hook to the opposite side of the barb and then pull out, you should be able, on most occasions, remove the hook with out tearing it out of the fishes mouth. It's a good technique if you hook yourself...LOL
  6. lol Sammy, gunfish and spook are great tools. Somedays you need to stir them up a little. The old Pop-R is tough to beat. I have (2) Buzzjets on the way for this season. Topwater is so much fun. 2 Buzzjets? I'm going into the maple syrup business...LOL
  7. I use the same strategy as Wanderlust. Somedays a louder chugger bait is needed and somedays a quieter dog walker is needed. If I had my way, they would nail a dog walker all day...LOL

  12. So wait a minute, did the following happen before or after you ate this sandwich?
  13. Gotcha, thanks MonteSS.
  14. I got up a 5 this morning, finished work @ midnight and sat down for a couple of beers, then I read this...I'm in tears laughing up here...That was funny
  15. Are you sure you didn't give her twin lobsters?...LOL...Very nice fish!
  16. Nothing wrong with ME. I go up there every weekend during the spring, summer & fall. Now a non-resident fishing license @ $64.00 is starting to P' me off...LOL....AND I PAY PROPERTY TAXES... ;D
  17. Thursday 64*, Friday 65*, Saturday 17* here in the Boston area. 3-4" of snow expected on Monday. Gotta love New England.
  18. Are you referring to the dual lock snap on the blade?
  19. That must have been awesome. It sounds like Shaw Grigsby is as genuine in person as he is on television. Congrats to you, Keri, can't wait to see the vid.
  20. Wow, sounds like you had a great day! Nice fish South FLA!
  21. I like it. Totally unique. I've been fooling around with a couple of different things as well. Just some modifications to spinnerbaits that really changes the lure. So yeah, you're right, the cabin fever here in the northeast has had my mind brainstorming as well, not just because of the winter months, but because of an impending lead ban we face in 2012.
  22. I go as soon as I possibly can. I'm like Goose in the respect that I keep it pretty local for the same reasons. Last year was the best ice out fishing I've experienced in all the time I have been fishing. Heading into the week prior to ice out we got really warm days with flooding rain. The rain not only melted the ice, but helped warm the water considerably. Fish came in shallow within a couple of days after ice out and there were a lot of big fish mixed in. I ended up getting my PB LMB for the year during that period.
  23. The thing that gets me is lending tools to peeps and a month later I have to go get it back only to hear "oh, I didn't think you needed it so soon".
  24. Looking forward to seeing them, GMAN, especially that bluegill spinnerbait. I may have to make 1 of those bluegills up before my season starts.
  25. Without know what your water temps are, but, IMHO, I would look for structure adjacent to deep water - points and channels come immediately to mind. Look for sun soaked rocky/sandy shores and like Gangley mnetion, the inside weed edges. I wouldn't overlook the fact the surface temps to about a foot deep could be a lot warmer than the rest of the water column, especially later in the day. I would try a tandem spinnerbait or a shallow running crank just below the surface. Good luck.
