  1. It is an old SK Buzz King Blade, but I made it on a different head. I couldn't find any more blades online, so I made a couple of more blades in different colors. You can't have just one, right? LOL Thanks for the feedback, I'm looking forward to fishing this, for sure!
  2. Not sure when I got this, but it was the late 90's maybe 2000. I throw this way too much:
  3. Any dog walker, although the Spit'n Image always gets me out of a jam. And, hopefully this for this this year: 3/8oz tri-wing with a steel rivet for some added noise.
  4. Just jigs & sinkers Crestliner. I have an e-mail from MA Wildlife confirming that and can forwrd to you if you want it.
  5. Oh man, I just caught this thread. WTG Red, I'm soooo happy and jealous of you! congrats bud! I hope they get bigger!
  6. Man...Big Bass Man, you certainly live up to your name! I will have to assume you caught those babes on your awesome paints?! Congrats my friend, you really deserve the fruits of your labor! Very nice indeed. For those of you who don't venture off to the Tacklemaking Forum, you need to! You need to see what this talented man does! I'm very happy for you Big Bass Man!
  7. A Bitsy bug and a twin tail or single tail grub is the bomb for me!
  8. KVD is a smart man. Would you use non-sponsored equipment and make it public?
  9. I'm glad you're all right, Raider. I've gotten zapped by a 20 amp circuit in the past and didn't like it one bit, but I can't believe that an electrician would be that lazy and not put a transformer back where it belongs. I've been in construction for a long time and think that some, not all, electricians are lazy. Those lazy ones should never be in the trade and give the trade a bad name. Pull their license and let them flip burgers. There is no need for that crap!
  10. Without a pic, it's hard to say, but usually spinner blades are on a split rings attached to the swivel and you can switch them out at the split ring. If the spinnerbait employs a barrell or crane type swivel then you would have to rebend the arm by simply cutting off the old bend and then rebend. At this point you can add a new swivel and while your at it, add a snap to the blade and swivel to make change outs easier in the future. Here's a pic of a spinnerbait with a snap:
  11. Have you not had much luck with shad patterns? We don't have shad here, but shad patterns work just as well as sunfish and perch patterns.
  12. The bomb! Awesome Marc, a little goes a long way.
  13. SAHWEET!
  14. I haven't fished them, but it looks like the doubled blades on separate arms would over torque the bait right over. Did you find that to be the case Hooligan? Atleast a tandem config would have counter rotating blades to stabilize the bait a bit. I guess I don't have enough confidence to spend money on something that "looks" like it won't work.
  15. Hey Andrew, welcome aboard. I look forward to seeing you around the boards!

    Jigs

Congrats Brand0n...The addiction has started...LOL To answer your questions, here's what I like and think of different style of jigs: Football Jigs = Rocks Arky Style = Timber Casting/Flipping = Weeds and Grass. Casting style jigs have a light hook, so I would use in sparse vegetation and flipping would be great for the thick stuff. The above are just guidelines for me, I don't mind using ,say, a football jig for a casting jig situation or an Arky in rocks, but the list is really how I use them and, for me, make the day that much more enjoyable. I generally stay with 1/4 oz and 1/2 oz for the most part heavier if the thick stuff is really thick so I can punch on down thru, so you 3/8oz jig is, IMHO, a good tweener jig and a very popular one at that. Tom, how's that arky serving you?
  17. I thought the Ravens got lucky in the 3rd qtr when Torrey Smith got that 29 yd touchdown. He had the the DB's (McCourty's I believe) face mask and pulled him five yards to the end zone. No penalty and no mention of it on the telecast. The game probably doesn't come down to a last field goal if the call was made.
  18. Money right there Big Bass Man!
  19. Jig, without a doubt. No need to delay your learning curve. You can learn pitching & flipping right now in your basement while the waters are iced over. Come spring you can learn the second part and be ready for the spawn.
  20. Does anyone know what the penalty is if you do get caught fishing lead? I thought I read a license suspension for first time offenders, but I'm not sure of that nor do I know what the penalties are for multiple violations/offenses?
  21. Not unless you can get me on a 4.8 lber like Rhino did...LOL, JK...I'll fish with whoever would like to have me on their boat. I'm sure we'll have a lot of fun.
  22. Thanks for your opinions guys. Trial and error can be expensive...LOL
  23. I was hoping to try it out before the spring, but our waters finally iced over...Oh well It's built like an inline spinner with a t-rigged trailer, I can't see anything that would torque it over, but you may be right, I can always tie in a solid brass bead up at the offset of the hook to give it a keel affect. It won't be the greatest in rocks, that's for sure. Thanks for noticing that gramps.
  24. What problems do you see, gramps?
  25. Wow JF, I didn't know you were a wedding singer?
