I remember reading about this rig 2 or 3 years ago and I've been rigging my tubes like this ever since.
I know I posted this before but couldn't find the thread but here's a rig I used:
My point exactly, Papelbon is trying to be a one trick pony and you can't do that with major league hitters. Mariano Rivera had the cutter and used it a lot, but what people don't realize is he had a great fastball. He threw a 4 seam cutter and seam fastball. What made him remarkable was that both pitches came for the same arm slot angle and had the same rotation for the first 45'-50', but the last 10'-15' of ball travel is where hitters got fooled. He really was quite an amazing pitcher for guy who used 1 pitch 85% of the time!
Back in the mid-90's I had really good success with single tail hula grubs on a black jig head. I'm not sure single tail hula grubs are being produced any more, I haven't been able to find them in years.
He was always about the money and thinks he's an elite closer. He's a really good closer, don't get me wrong, but his splitter is his out pitch but he thinks he can blow hitters away with his fast ball and abandons the split. Hitters sit on fast ball serving up humble pie. But Papelbon is too pigheaded to understand that and will go out and make the same mistake over and over again.
Like Jig Man, I make and fish my own spinnerbaits. I fish single bladed baits 90% of the time and use 1/4, 3/8 and 1/2 oz baits for all of my spinnerbait fishing. I like rabbit strip trailers and have caught my PB on a spinnerbait I made with a rabbit strip (Zonker Strip).
I really like the Strikeback by Megastrike. It's one of the very few spinnerbaits I do buy. Here's a Strikeback with a Zonker Strip I added for a member here:
Nitro, you're a very good friend who I can joke with and who I learn a lot from. Just take a break my friend and come back when you feel the time is right. I'm suppose to hit you with a joke right now, but not on this day. I will text you tomorrow to see what's eating you. Take a nights sleep and think about what you're doing my friend.
We'll talk soon.

Great tip right there. Use that resistance/lift to your advantage and vary your retrieve speed or just flat out stop it once in a while...boy, bass just can't stand that!
Move to MA, they just raised the sin tax on smokes by an extra buck...$10.20 for a pack...thankfully I don't smoke because that would be the reason I'd quit!
When that happens to me, I end up speeding up the retrieve. Don't give the fish time abort the mission, make them react faster. IMHO, if the fish are hitting the blades, then your lure is the right lure, tweak the presentation.
My daughter has been wearing us down for a dog for many years now. This past school year she had a tough time at school from peeps bullying her. She felt lost and alone with no friends to be had. We finally broke down and brought her to a shelter where she and a shepherd/beagle mix loved each other at first sight. I'm so happy that Abby has become a part of the family last June. She's only 1, but she is house broken, so we couldn't ask for anything more. She's progressing very well and appears to have settled in nicely in our home.
I wish you and your wife all the best Quanjig, I'm sure you'll do very well with your new pets, should you adopt.
Good luck.
ROFL...That's funny right there...Soak it up Felix77, they grow up fast. I miss my kids being that age. Now my daughter is texting boys. I wasn't really prepared for that...LOL
I did it twice once in 07 and just last January. I was not disappointed at all, a lot of fish caught on different lures. Disney in 07 taught me to love spinnerbaits!
The guides were super to be with and they really enjoy fishing with guys who know how to fish.
One word of advice, bring your own reel and switch out the one they give you. You'll be happy you did.
