Wow, that's weird, I've never had an issue with Rapala. I love the Skitter Walk and Rippin Rap. Although, I haven't fished the one you're having issues with, so I'll take your word for it.

They certainly are hard fighting fish, no doubt about it. When they hit, they hit hard. I'm surprised I haven't lost a rig or 2 over the years.

Sixers are a very hot team going into the playoffs, no doubt about it. The experience for them this year will be tremendous! As a Celtic fan, I look forward to having the Sixers playing well for years to come. I loved watching those 2 conf teams playing each other during the season and playoffs. The eastern conf needs them to be a valid team. Unfortunately the Celtics have way too many injuries. I would like to see them win a round for the playoff experience for their young guys. I agree that the championship will go through the west, but I'm not sleeping on the Raptors. They have a ton of talent on that team and could at least get to the finals. Can't forget about LeBron either.

I taught my son when he was 5 on a Zebco 33 many years ago. I showed him how to cast and just before the lure hit the ground I had him stop the cast with the cast button. He was casting a baitcaster within a couple of weeks. Teach em early, it will be much easier. He's 13 now and hasn't fished with me since baseball became his favorite sport. I consider myself a fortunate dad who has a kid who still likes to throw the ball around in the back yard.

I miss those relaxing days on the beach waiting for that rod to bend! I have a feeling it isn't gonna happen again this year either.

I'm looking to purchase jigs compatible for MA fishing, 1/4 oz thru 3/4 oz. Would love to find out where I can get a decent assortment of grass, swim and football style heads. Any input you have is appreciated. Thanks JF10.

I haven't done it in a while but I used my 5 wt rod and used to tie up Royal Wulffs and had a blast with gills. Man, I may have to do that again this year. I had a blast! Thanks for the post.

I remember the Red Sox playing the Rockies in the World Series in '07 and the Rockies were waiting for the winner of the ALCS to finish up and they got a bit of snow during that week. They showed the players making snow angels on the field during practice... I thought I heard the Twins got postponed yesterday (Sunday) because of snow and frigid temps?

Absolute classic! I coached a tourney team last year and we had uniforms made up for the kids and us coaches. The 3 coaches numbers and names: #3 Who (He was actually the 1st base coach) #4 What (Me, manager) #5 IDK (He was actually the 3rd base coach)

Coaching Little League in the Spring and Summer. Playing backyard pitching with my son, although I have maybe 2 years left doing that, he's getting older.

If anything, by learning how to make lures, will allow you to take some of your old lures and give them a make over: New skirts for jigs, spinnerbaits and buzzbaits, maybe new blades for the spinnerbaits as well. Painting your old cranks and/or topwaters? Knowledge of replacing hooks and split rings with the correct sizes Melting old plastics down and making new Just some ideas of not only building new from scratch, but repairing/replacing what you have. It will take you some time to recoup the dollars on just building new, but there is an assumed savings by working on what you have. For me? I just like the winter hobby building tackle provides.
