  1. I see what you did there...good play
  2. Live worm and a sand chair in the bunker behind the green. If it's hot, get some ice tea and don't forget sun block. Oh, if I'm playing toward that green, get out of the way, my golf ball always finds the sand...or the drink for that mater. Hope this helps you enjoy your outing.
  3. 9* this morning...thanks Midwest peeps! Actually, after today we start climbing to more seasonal temps. By our 9th day of the 10 day forecast we get into the mid-50*'s.
  4. I didn't realize Lewis Rattle Traps stop making them. I guess you can go old school and take a sinking one and drill it out and take ballast out until it suspends? Or you can buy the Ima Suspending Lipless Crankbait for 10 balloons, whatever works. Way to "guard them quite seriously"... Actually that's a really nice thing you just did.
  5. Thanks @MN Fisher, great info. Sounds like worm mutiny. Can't we all just get along?
  6. Some great answers here, but I'm just curious; Is there a reason why you wouldn't just remove from the original packaging and neatly sort and store in say Plano boxes?
  7. The list from @roadwarrior is pretty spot on, I would suggest a couple of trap type baits and worms (you pick) to be t-rigged. Both will cast out further from the bank. As a well respected member here once told me. "Sometimes the fish aren't in here, but out there." Turned out to be great advice.
  8. Up until Monday we were holding a record for the least amount of snow fall for the season. 16.7" will dash that record away. I actually don't care about the snow as much as I really, really hate single digit temps. I'm good from about 20* and greater. Winter in March just plain stinks.
  9. "Everybody's talkin' 'bout the new sound Funny, but it's still rock and roll to me" Good to see you
  10. Yeah @12poundbass, we had single digits this morning too. I'm sure @A-Jay is firing up that violin for me right now as we speak... Seriously, I do hope we start getting some more seasonal temps soon.
  11. Not sure what it is @Bluebasser86, but my dog Abby will jump into bed, lay down the same way right next to me with the same grin...
  12. A few years back I was bank fishing in the morning. The only people around were the lifeguard kids getting ready for the day. These kids were college students on summer break. I was fishing a lipless crank and caught a pickerel. I pick the fish up by the lure so I can grab my pliers to release the fish. The little snot rocket was thrashing about and I caught one of the hooks in my hand. The same hand that's holding the bait that's hooked into the snot rockets mouth. With my free hand I try to calm the fish down so I can get the hook out of it's mouth. It thrashes more and the hook is getting deeper in my hand. Finally I get the fish unbuttoned but was in so much pain I didn't have the strength to pull the hook out. Finally I asked one of the kids to pull the hook out. He looks at my now bloodied hand and the look on his face was a look of queasiness. He says; "Mr. you don't have any diseases do you? Ya know, like aids?" Couldn't help but laugh. Gotta give the kid credit for asking!
  13. Irony is not lost here.
  14. Bad News Bears "Usually we're just bad news"
  15. Not a bad thing if they do crack. Instead of a suspending jerkbait, you got a sinking one. Back in the day anglers used to drill out floating jerkbait and add ballast then fill the hole to make them suspend or they would just leave a hole and let it fill with water to make them sink.
  16. @A-Jay, I did hear some dripping noises, it was @12poundbass' @$$ bleeding for me... Too funny. Thanks fellas I needed a good laugh today......Now I gotta explain to IT why I need another keyboard. Just spit water all over it.
  17. At least save some Miller Lite when I come out your way...
  18. You building an electric substation somewhere?
  19. I like the additional strands and really like the round rubber in the way they react in the water, but I always found them to be a bit of a pain casting them. Seem like the added strands catch way too much air...could just be me though. All of them posted here look great tho!
  20. I wish you guys in the Midwest would keep your cold air and snow. Yesterday we got 16" snow and we woke up to frigid temps. ENOUGH ALREADY, IT'S MARCH FOR CRYING OUT LOUD!
  21. I think the advice @Tennessee Boy gave you is very good advice. I like a lot of different lines out there but when I get a window to go fishing, it's usually on the way home from work and I'll bank fish for a couple of hours. Mono is very easy to use if you're switching lures. It's a great starting point that you can always go back to. Try it in different presentations and then make your determination as to using something different.
  22. When I first started building rods I always found the spine. I read and was taught (I may have this backwards) that the spine was the "strong" side and opposite was weaker. On a casting rod you would put the guides on the spine side if you were using the rod as a worm or jig rod. There would be less "give" and a more solid hookset. Conversely, if you set the guides on the opposite side it would be best used as a crankbait/spinnerbait type rod. I've bought a few rods and just for the heck of it I found the spine and noticed that none of them had guides installed along or opposite and the rod still performed well. I now save myself the time of finding the spine and now do what others on here do.
  23. Couldn't agree more. I had the same symptoms back in '09 and the first thing I got check for was stroke...Don't screw around with this
  24. "Last year I went fishing with Salvador Dali. He was using a dotted line. He caught every other fish." Steven Wright
