  1. Looks like Sunday is going to be the day to be outside!
  2. If I go bank fishing after work for a couple of hours I usually run into a kid fishing as well. Inevitably he'll see me catch a fish and will come over to ask what I caught, how many and so on. Usually they're very polite. I'll tell them where the spots are and will cut the lure off my line and will send them on their way. I don't seek out information, I actually like the hunt and experience, but for the kids, I'll do what I can to get them on fish and into the sport.
  3. Not exactly the way I heard that one...
  4. ^^you’re^^ gaining on it
  5. @J.Vincent if you use ear plugs lace them on the hook of your chatterbait and stuff them inside the craw it will stay put. You can find them in the safety section at Home Depot or your hardware store. The ear plugs are conical and taper down so they wedge in nicely inside the tube craw. The material is denser than the material I posted earlier which will be better for your app
  6. There’s a NH thread on this page somewhere, I know those guys could be very helpful to you
  7. Awesome job @DogBone_384, good to hear you got on em!
  8. I thought you guys were still iced out?
  9. I think in about a month you'll see some come in. I've never fished the river but have heard of some nice 40" plus fish coming out of there
  10. Definitely a craw pattern soft plastic of craw lipless crank.
  11. I hope it opens up for you, it's that time of year where the itch gets worse as the temp tube creeps its way red. I've got to get this outta my house in Maine and will use it to pond hop this year I think. It has a 9.9 4 stroke and I want to get a TM for it. It's been great to striper fish out of it for the past few years. It can be inflated and on the water in like 10 minutes or less.
  12. A few ponds are wide open, I'm fishing on Saturday for a few hours.
  13. Sahweet! Those will do some damage on Lake Winni for sure. If memory serves me, a jig like you have with no skirt with a Yamamoto Hula Grub on your lake was a big producer for me. Good job bud.
  14. Agree. You can kind of fuse it by heating the worm with a cigarette lighter. Shove it in and cut to size. Another mod you can do is to place a foam backer rod used for sealing around windows. They come in a variety of thicknesses. This will give you a craw that will stand-up in a defensive position.
  15. Site fishing is very frustrating. If bass had fingers I know which one they'd show me when site fishing. I don't do it anymore. I'd rather pull a fly rod out and fish a dry for gills.
  16. Sounds like you hit the trifecta... Can't tell you how many times I get amped up to fish, string new line on the reel, tie on my favorite I think this will work lure, head to the water, rear back and let it rip. Turn around, head back to the truck to string more line on and, this time, adjust the cast control and drag... BTW, why does jerry always get all the credit for a fix?
  17. Won't be long before I'm back here:
  18. Finally got some home projects done this weekend so I tried my hand at this. Epic fail... Some Lessons learned: * My first pour, the pic on the right was too thin, especially where it broke at the lure imprint. * I also think my plaster need to be thinner. I'm also changing plaster products. I have Uni-Kal Plaster I can try * More lubrication between halves. Will try it again next weekend.
  19. Loved the "power of distance" post A-Jay, great advice. Something that I forgot about fishing some of the crystal clear lake in NH. Mental note is not lost here.
  20. Jeepers, back in the low 20*'s this morning! 40*'s & 50*'s will be the tempo ranges for the next 10 days with a possible 60* towards the end. Waters are unlocking as well.
  21. I work in Natick right by Lake Cochituate and it looks like it about 50% - 60% open in the area I drive by. I never even thought about going by the Res in Canton this morning. I have 2 options of getting to the highway and going by the res is 1 of them. I'll go by tomorrow and will check it out.
  22. I wrote this in another thread but it's worth repeating. My son is a pitcher in baseball and can throw a lot of different pitches...curveball, slider, 2 seem, 4 seem, change-up, splitter, cutter...I asked him 1 day, if you have a 2/2 or 3/2 count how many of those pitches do you have confidence in throwing? He said 3. "Why don't you work on those 3 for now, get really good with them and then add another." It's fun to be able to fish with multiple lures, presentation and techniques but if you don't know how to fish with any of the lures you mentioned then you're just casting and not fishing. The advice you've been given has been great advice by fisherman who had to develop their own flow charts. I would work on something that can be fished on top, middle and bottom. Get good with those then add something else. You can develop your own flow chart from your experience instead of someone elses. For me: Topwater: Walking bait like a Spook Jr Middle: Lipless Crank Bottom: Texas Rig Worm EDIT: Sorry @MIBassyaker, I completely misread your post about top, middle bottom. Great post
