  1. ROFL, yeah you maybe looking at September/October before they dry out, especially with the way you guys get snow @A-Jay. If your blower pushes out some serious CFM, maybe the blower will dry them for ya...But we're talking tornado type CFM.
  2. Wet leaves take leaf blowing out as an option. Old fashion rake work....Good times!
  3. I was expecting the Sox to have a slow start, but this is pathetic. 150 more to go.
  4. Thanks a lot you Midwesterners, you cant keep that stuff to yourself. Northern New England is supposed to get the snow and we're getting rain from it on Saturday. It was supposed to be opening day for my son's baseball season. ENOUGH ALREADY!
  5. That's awesome lonnie g, you should be proud of the young man. What's next, WWE?
  6. Man I hate C-Rigs for that reason alone. I know it's a great technique, but I'd rather watch paint dry in a rain storm.
  7. You can't win'em all. I liked it though...
  8. There's the "Goldilock Zone" of line tightness upon splash down. For me I want to keep a tight line, yet slack enough so it drops straight down and not pendulum back towards you. @NYWayfarer, great analogy for it.
  9. Not a visual I could use now... Absolutely, 100%!
  10. A tank for sure @TnRiver46! If you got a length on it, you can pretty much go pound for inch to get you close. Those on fun on light gear for sure, basically is what I use striper fishing in the bay in ME. Congrats my friend!
  11. Sweet rig @LadiMopar, good luck with it!
  12. This fisherman would be fishing in another state if I saw that. Not for me, god bless you guys fishing next to those things.
  13. Strikes on a lipless should hook the fish by themselves but as I'm reeling a quick wrist jerk of the rod will usually give me the confidence that the fish is on pretty good. I'm using a med hvy/ mod fast action rod with mono (this year) 8-12 lbs test depending how deep I want to fish. Split rings can be a pain, but I still use them, just gotta make sure your not tying to 2 wire ring ends and tie to the opposite side. I've done the oval rings and snaps and for some reason went back to split rings. No rhyme or reason, just did it.
  14. A beauty for sure @Mr. Aquarium!
  15. You could of went all gangster like Bobby Clarke! My days of hockey ended when I was in a non-check league and after my second shoulder separation from getting hit, I called it quits.
  16. I'm half way there, I own a home on this beach in ME: My daughter is starting college in the Fall and my son is in HS. I would eventually like to sell my home in MA and would like to get a home in the VA/Carolina areas.
  17. Should be good. Make sure you match the line and lure weight with it and it should work. Looks like Line is 2-6# test and lures 1/16 - 1/4oz. Good luck
  18. Fished Saturday for the first time in 3 years. Fresh water fishing that is. Only could get 2 hours in, I had plans to have lunch with my dad who turned 80. Got skunked. Tried again on Sunday for a couple of hours as well before my son's practice and didn't do any better. One of these days I'm gonna get time on the water. Hopefully when I get the TM in I can take a day to enjoy the sport again.
  19. I must have gotten the same model, but mine always turned right. Trying to get to my house was always fun.
  20. Really, I thought the Phils had a pretty solid staff?
  21. @Quarry Man, this isn't just an age issue, this type of behavior from others tends to spill into adult life. A lot of peeps I meet always have to be better than you and go out of their way to instill that belief. It used to bother me as well. Keep your head down and keep, keeping on and pay no attention to those peeps who think they know it all. In the long run, they usually prove that they can't do as much as they think they can do.
  22. Yep, me too. And I tie jigs...LOL
  23. Such great advice throughout this thread but I quoted this statement because time on the water, experience with the current inventory of baits you have and seeing what they do will always provide more valuable information. You can even educate yourself at home. Rig up a plastic on a hook, attach a leader and fill up a sink or bucket and just drop the bait in and see how fast or slow it falls, swim it and see what kind of action it provides and finally, twitch it on the bottom to get feedback as to what the bait does and how a fish sees it.
  24. Not exactly what you're looking for but this sizing chart will help. https://www.jannsnetcraft.com/Content/downloads/sizing_chart.pdf Download, print and match you hook size to the chart. Inventory form there. My guess is you're gonna have a ton of size 6 & 8 hooks.
  25. That's an oinker for sure! Congrats. Hope to see you more on here.
