  1. Nice job on the floor, buddy! Is that a ceramic tile or a vinyl tile? Either way it came out nice, your mom must be really happy!! You sure that life jacket won't get stolen? I mean, they don't make em like that anymore? (Psst, there's a very good reason they stop making em, they're butt ugly and no one was buying em) That fish I quoted in this post would still be twice the size of mine if I was competitive fishing with you that day. "Happy mother's day, mom, there's a bar of soap down at the water's edge in case you need to wash your hands. We'll talk about the toilet later!"
  2. Oh yeah, he asked me to show him one in little league and I showed him a changeup instead. He just started throwing the curve. Amazing how much bad information there's on the web with some pitches.
  3. Finally had the first games (doubleheader) of the season after 3 weekends in a row of rainouts. My 14 y/o son just started pitching last year. In this outing he went 4 innings and gave up 2 runs, 1 unearned. Fastball, curveball and changeup were all working. Needed Clorox for the curveball, it was filthy yesterday. Sorry, proud dad here.
  4. Either one of these, I have no preference.
  5. Looking good!
  6. Are you using round nose pliers? I make the jig if I'm making multiple baits and want uniformity, but I need a couple of different pliers to "clean up" the bends. The R-Bend is a bend that needs "cleaning up". Usually you're making an overlapping bend and pulling back with the tag end to complete the arm. As far as the natural curvature of the wire from the coil is concerned, I really don't worry about it, the bends on bass lure are minimal. Not gonna lie here, I do tune up the lure prior to use. Good luck, would love to see some of your creations. This one started out as an inline but, as usual, my mind got carried away. Turns out to be a great multi-species bait. It flat out bird dogs fish:
  7. I can't really say that I had that much problems unless I really mangled the wire during fabrication.
  8. A spook. Bend the line tie a bit and cast parallel to the dock. The spook will want to walk right under the dock.
  9. Are you sure it was just the sandwich that killed him?
  10. Will say, that I do it this way only to save a vessel from having to be washed. Although, peanut butter and banana is my choice.
  11. This is how I do it.
  12. That's a great tip, is the epoxy soft enough to wipe off with a towel?
  13. You sure? This member was in elementary school when he wrote it, I think he graduated college... Actually, I don't remember this thread TBH...
  14. Definitely a grass/swim jig. Swim/Pitch/hop in weedy cover with little to no rock at the next break. Who knows, could be a winner.
  15. All posts above gave great advice. One thing I do consider when fishing a spinnerbait is depth. Single willow will roll better along the bottom than say a double Colorado. Thinner blades = fish faster, tighter spin, more flash, less lift - I.E Willow blade Wider/Bigger blades = fish slower, wider spin, less flash, more lift - I.E Colorado blade Because there is always a compromise in life - Indiana blade. Good middle ground blade
  16. Sheeesh, that's a nice gill for sure! The smile on his face is priceless. Congrats and thanks for sharing.
  17. It was nice to see the Sox wake up a bit this weekend. Hopefully that series in St. Pete will carry over to the upcoming homestand.
  18. Bluegill and perch are the primary forage in the waters I fish, I have yet to see a live gill or perch change their color so I stick with something that mimics them. If that doesn't work a Rapala gold/chrome pattern works great.
  19. The fuel oil tanks if not in use have to be removed and treated as hazardous waste. Prior to moving into our home we had the option of getting rid of it ourselves or have the seller's do it. We opted to have the seller's as that tank was marked with their identity. Can't remember why they mark the tanks with the owner's identity, that was a long time ago. Not sure if this regulation is still in practice.
  20. Go as light as possible with your jigs and t-rigs. Switch out your line to a heavier lb test as well.
  21. How do you explain the dutch oven in bed? To @12poundbass post about gas explosion being human error, I couldn't agree more. We just had a county section that had multiple explosions that killed, I believe 1 and multiple injuries while leaving countless thousands displaced from their homes. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Merrimack_Valley_gas_explosions I've had natural gas all my life and love cooking and heating with it. When my wife and I moved into our home 25 plus years ago, we had an opportunity to switch from oil to natural gas, which we did. To this day, we still find traces of soot from the old oil furnace. In my home in ME, we had a choice between propane and electric and believe it or not electric was the cheaper route from both a constructability and utility costs at the time. I hate cooking on electric stoves though.
  22. Perfect, you got the best of both worlds. No, you lost the weight on your own just by making your mind up and committing to it. Idealshape was just another tool towards the goal. You should be proud of yourself.
  23. @A-Jay, You know you have a lot of leaves when you own more leaf blowing equipment than a professional landscaper...
  24. I just added 2 cable exercises to my workout regimen and use the ones with the handles. My son goes to strength and conditioning for baseball and they use the same along with weights. Bands are nice alone or in conjunction with barbell work. The member that knows about cable work is @Brad Reid. I wouldn't have gotten into them if it wasn't for his input. Congrats on the weight loss BTW, not an easy thing to do and keep off. I'm in my own dog fight with maintaining the weight loss. I fluctuate from 160 - 165, so I'll take that. Good luck.
