  1. That's something I really need to do. I last got shingles in '09 and that WAS NOT a pleasant experience. I still have numbness above my chest on the left side. Thanks for the reminder ...

  6. Love connecting with bluefish. Totally worth the fight. Unfortunately they show up sporadically in Southern Maine. I’d have to pull the boat out of the bay and head south for a state or 2.
  7. I find a lot of anglers who pick a jig to fish with but have no idea what that particular jig will do under water and in different underwater environments. This is a great article that explains the head shape, line tie, etc that gives the jig the characteristics of what this does underwater. This article is a great learning tool and provides great advice for December fishing. Free advice here at Bass Resource Thank you @Glenn for publishing this.
  8. Ok, what about a bass?
  9. When my son was young he wanted to fly a kite on the beach. So we went and bought a kite and a roll of string. I spooled all the string onto a 3/8” wood dowel. On a nice breezy day we got the kite up and flew it or hours. Came time to bring the kite in I had him wind the string onto the dowel and said to him; “wait here” Come back and he says; “This is gonna take forever to get the kite”. “No it won’t, watch” I got the cordless drill from my house and put the dowel in the chuck and reeled it in. By the way: put pencils in the drill and you can sharpen a dozen in seconds
  10. Stoughton Where on the north shore?
  11. Southern Maine, Kennebunk area. I have a house there and fortunately I can work from home. Staying up there is not a problem. Where you from?
  12. I’ll be in Maine by April, hoping to find some fresh water around me . Been fishing a ton of salt, but really looking to get on fresh water bass again. It’s been quite a while, that’s for sure! We’ll start a Mainer report

I do work and can’t get out often and I do a lot for my parents who are experiencing health issues. Those can’t be a disadvantage tho. That’s just part of life.

  18. I probably would have done the same thing @BigAngus752. I have no desire to paint the exterior of my house and the repairs on the exterior of the garage would have been a project I would have taken on as well. @DaubsNU1, nice job man. Boy I wish I had an out building like that! @FishTax, way to go man! I know for sure I would not have been able get that going. Good for you! @TnRiver46…well I know your history with home projects

  20. Just checking in to see if any of our YOUNG anglers who want to learn jig fishing from Denny Brauer? If there’s enough interest we’ll make a contest out of it…say largest fish of the season or something like that. I’ll throw his Tournament Secrets in as well. BTW…books are free. I’ve gotten some really good advice for free and want to give back. Lemme know …
  21. Gonna be a quiet winter as far as fishing activities are concerned. I have a few reels to clean up but other than that, really nothing. I usually tie up some bucktails but really didn’t go thru that many last season. I may have a rod guide to replace. I’ll have to take a look see …

  23. Makes me want to be a Maineiak more and more … … I would love to get away from the crowds and congestion
  24. Just finishing up repairing the bathroom ceiling … again. Seems like I do it every 5 or 6 years. Had a mold and mildew problem this time around. Scraped the ceiling down and dug out the PIA spots. Weird tho, mold was in the compound under the paint. 3 coated with USG 90 covering the whole ceiling. Primed yesterday with a mold and mildew preventer additive. 1 coat painted today with the additive added in as well. Will final coat tomorrow. New exhaust fan and light fixture waiting on deck. What’s your project?
