  1. I have 400's and 580's in copper and my father has 580's in amber and 400's in copper as well. The 580's are "said" to help read electronics better in the sunlight, and decrease the glare. Me and my father can't tell a difference... I can read my electronics fine with 400's, and I can read underwater just as good with 400's. I can say that I would get amber, and definitely glass lenses over plastic.
  2. How do you like the 805
  3. I've always used Power Pro, and tried Fireline once. But I just started trying Spiderwire Stealth, and it's the cheapest and so far my favorite. I don't think I'll be trying anymore, I'm gonna stick with it. The main reason is that it's so smooth and it doesn't cut your fingers when flipping. Power Pro could kill a man.....

  5. The design with the heat shrinking tube keeps beavers on the shank of the hook very well too. I like the angle of the hook when hooked in a plastic, it's pointing almost straight up ready to penetrate. If you find a heavy wire straight shank hook without the Heat Shrink Barb, it's very simple to make your own.
  6. Thanks for the input so far guys.
  7. I'm still learning on this technique, and have liked an 8' rod better than the 7'6''. Punching is the only technique that I use actual flipping, and the 8 rod lets me flip a little further.
  8. What is everyones flipping matted grass/ Punching setup? Rod, Line, Reel. I'm curious to see everyones, but make sure you post the specific type of braid, not just what size.
  9. Ike? I've seen Skeet cry because he missed his daughter being born, and Gerald cry more than once..... I've yet to see Ike cry. He gets excited, not throwing a fit.
  10. I hope thats a joke.
  11. I love listening to Rush while I fish... I've never given it a try with an ipod before..
  12. Flip and Pitch Study your graph
  13. D'yer Maker or Ramble On
  14. Finally the drive is over! Fished toho for a few hours today, and didn't do too great, not too bad. Caught a few fish on a Bronze Eye, and a Money Minnow. We put in at LakeFrontPark, and didn't go down too far. I've heard alot about North Steer, is this a good location for right now? Thanks.
  15. Not my photography of course... but awesome.
  16. I hate snot grass as well, I fish nothing but weightless stuff or topwaters in it! I really like Hydrilla, but the grass on the coosa river lakes, that doesn't grow but on the bank is awesome, we call it "Alligator Grass". And no, it isn't tullies, reeds, or cattails.
  17. My dad took off Thursday and Friday of this week! But we're still deciding when do we wanna go to Toho. Would the dates I posted be good? After the Opens result, it seems to be....
  18. Every console is gonna have modders, and glitchers. The fact that people actually worry and get bothered by cheaters in a video game is disgusting 8-) Let the cheaters cheat, it's funny how much they care... lmao
  19. Both are fine rods! But if you can afford it, I'd go for the Cumara.
  20. I'm not the biggest expert on these. I did just recieve a 765 however, I don't have a 766. After doing some research I'm pretty sure for pitching lighter baits, the 765 is the one. With that said, I imagine it's okay with the 766 as well.
  21. Thanks Guy's!
  22. Me and my dad went out sunday 1/23/11 to prefish for my tourny next weekend at Tensaw ( mobile delta) We ended up catching a few in the Middle of the Day on a blue bird sky day. Heres the link to the vid:
  23. Never done it, though I just loaded up on punching gear this year. Can't wait to start as soon as the grass starts to matt this summer. Yeah man, I've done it a few times. But I got a new rod and alot of equipment to do it this year. I'm going down to toho in like 3 weeks, and plan to do it. I don't think it's primetime to do it down there, but I'm sure I could catch a few doin' it.
  24. Cypress Trees are fun to pitch to. But actually flipping and penetrating hydrilla is awesome. 8-)
  25. I see alot of people talking about flipping and pitching, to the cover types they fish... What is your favorite and most fun cover to fish? Laydowns, Matted Hydrilla, Hyacinth, tullies, Pads, or docks. I pitch to Laydowns everytime I go, but my favorite so far is Matted Hydrilla. What about YOU?
