  1. I dont have my drivers license and my dad doesnt allow me to fish in my boat by myself so last weekend after a whole week of not fishing i woke up at 5 am on saturday morning and rode my bike with two baitcasters and huge duffelbag tacklebox, four miles to fish a local lake in memphis....and man did it pay off! 17 bass caught that morning, i love it when all that hard work and determination pays off, but yes my addiction drives me to do crazy things...like ride my bike ten miles to bass pro to jump on a huge 3 hour sale( my parents dont get home till 5). Man, being 15 and a fish addict has its ups and downs let me tell you.
  2. ok dude, i may only be 16 but i have been bass fishing ponds mainly and exclusively my whole life...i live in memphis. but anyways the key to catching fish in these ponds is simply fishing them enough. learn where the drop-offs are, the weed beds, the spawning beds, and rock beds. find a good consistent spot and fish it. all those big lakes are are a bunch of little small lakes. no two ponds are alike either, figure them out in a nutshell, find a good consistent pattern, sort of like a local favorite. also, most ponds have a lot of fishing pressure by anglers who simply just cast lures and fish blindly, BE DIFFERENT, step outside the box. there is no magic bait that will catch fish in every pond wether it be soft plastic, crankbaits, spinnerbaits, etc.. fish what you have confidence in and have fun.
  3. you know, i am 15 years old and im im more addicted to fishing than the crackheads you see on tv are to drugs. im not really sure why i like it so much but i do have many theories that might help answer your question. for one, i love fishing b/c its so unique in the fact that it goes outside the normal baseball/football trend, its different and its a way to overcome boredom. Its also very rewarding, you work hard, you catch fish. But mostly, i think i love it so much because i am completely 100% self taught and almost every fish i have caught has been on my own skill, not someone else's. The funny thing is that my dad is not really a fisherman, i live in a city, my uncle mostly fly fishes and fishes ofr crappie, i have to pay for all my rods ,reels, and equipment.....yet i am so addicted to it. And the 8.4 pound moster i caught the other day didnt really help the cause either.
  4. Well i went to enid lake for a camping trip with my friend and i caught a 2 pound bass accidently while fishing for panfish, ever since then i have been hooked. Imeani have always been addicted to fishing but not any particular part but now...bass fishing has taken a hold of me.
