I HOPE my guys call me TOP.. its a term of endearment as far as I am concerned.. but yes I had a 1SG that didn't want to be called Top either.. *shrug* I just ran a 14:38 on my PT test... not too many young uns ahead of me ... and I am working on getting into the 13s... thanks for all the kind words y'all... the hard part is waiting for my number to come up.. it wouldn't be so bad if they were actually going thru the sequence numbers on a regular pace.. LOL AL

the charger has to be portable. I have a "fishing" closet that I have to put everything in because the boat is going to be along side the house with a cover when its not being used.. don't want everything being stolen. AL

Isn't it insulting to call a NCO sir because they work for a living? Congradulations! Allen Aka 1LT/02E Ragland NCO corp trader. 8-) Actually yes it is.. but so is calling an NCO a "Sarge" drives me NUTS... but... and its a big BUT... most "Civillians" have no clue that calling an NCO "Sarge" is a no no.. because they see it so much on TV that they just assume that is how it is... I was the same way when I went into Basic... boy did I get set straight quick... BUT here is how I look at it.. one of my soldiers.. they wont EVER call me Sarge.. they can call other Sergeants Sarge... but not ME... but a civillian can all me Sarge and I won't say anything because they are using my rank as a way of showing respect to me and they honestly don't know different... now I could correct every person that calls me Sarge.. but *shrug* I would be just banging my head so no biggie.. I just smile and say "hey" now the same thing is with SIR, I am on a Brigade staff and I have that "air" about me that half the folks I talk to call me Sir at the beginning of a conversation.. I get a kick out of when the officers do it.. but to me that is another sign of respect .. and that goes with my AGE hahahaha I AM getting OLD for the army... I am getting to the "crusty old NCO" age.. and to be honest I LOVE IT... I fuss at folks and they do what I tell them to.. enlisted AND officer... so for someone to call me sir now... *shrug* no biggie.. but yes if a lower EM calls me Sir he IS going to get set straight with a "SIR? I WORK FOR A LIVING" but seriously folks on the streets calling me Sir, doesn't bother me... I live in the South now.. LOL you get used to it QUICK.. that and being called honey by a total stranger hahahah AL

I have already had two Lieutenant Colonels ask me if I would be one of their first Sergents when they took command of their Battalion... my Brigade Command Sergeant Major and my S3 Sergeant Major are already telling me that soon as I want a company to let them know and they will get me one.. I have a couple of schools I need to attend due to deployments but once I knock them out I am going to take them up... that is the ULTIMATE head nod right there broh... 1SG... TOP... that is the last opportunity for me to be DIRECTLY in charge of Soldiers... and to have several folks tell me that they want ME to be a first Sergeant for them.. is a true compliment.. they like my "fair but boy does he get spooled up" personality... AL

When I left 10 months ago... I promised myself when I got out of the desert I was going to buy myself a truck and a jon boat. Well with the support of my family... I got this for a tow vehicle... its a 2005 ThunderRoad Edition Ram 1500 and I just made a deal to buy this from slowrollin... I believe he visits here from time to time... he is a Drill Sergeant so I know he has my back... its 14 ft now here is the kicker... I have yet to sit in either... so like I said earlier... 55 DAYS!!!! but seriously I do need advice.. what size drift sock do I need and what is a good deep cycle battery charger? thanks for the Look AL

got some very good news yesterday. I had unofficially know for about two weeks but I OFFICIALLY got notified yesterday.. apparently the Department of the Army has seen the error of its ways and has decided they needed to put me on the List for Master Sergeant. WOOO HOOO that is a SWEET pay raise... most folks retire E-7 so for me to actually break thru that ceiling is a true honor to myself and my family for all the hard work we have done. I have NO idea when I am going to actually get promoted.. I have a sequence number and I have to wait for them to get to it... but hey... I know its coming! AL

funny you should mention this...3 or 4 times a week I talk to my family via a webcam.. I have been gone 10 months and it is SO helpful in me keeping in touch... now your right.. don't need any el buffo action going on in the website.. but I can see it happening ... AL

I am fixing to see about having a custom rod made.. and I want it to have spiral guides.. here is my question... I am left handed so do the guides have to go in the opposite direction? thanks for the answer... also what is the best bang for the buck 7 ft blank for a nice worm rod? I have an idea for a rod.. but I don't know if I can afford all the "pretties" I want put on it... thanks AL

Just wanted you to know I have been keeping an eye on you for the past few years... and I know it doesn't mean much... but d**n kid... I am proud of you... I have watched you grow from a short lil chunk to a tall dignified young man... Life has kicked us all in the butt from time to time but Senko never let it keep him down.. he went FISHING!... Just wanted to say my young friend... that when I get back from here... you are one of the first folks I want to go fishing with... I am proud to "know you" from this board. AL
