  1. Rig him up with some 6 or 8 pound trilene and loosen the drag a tad if your worried about breaking the line. For rock bass and bluegills theres no reason to get braid. Hopefully he likes it!
  2. I just got back from the lake after an awesome night on the water with one of my buddys. All week he has been pumped up to use his spro lil john crankbaits, which are $13 a piece. I just said I'll stick with my bandits and whatever else I could find in the box. Well, after all was said and done, he ended up with 9 on his lil john, while I only caught one. I was in the front of the boat setting myself up to catch em but he just kept pulling em in from the back of the boat. So with such a lopsided result does that mean that the more expensive baits are "better"? I have a hard enough time spending 5 bucks on a crankbait so I'd be swimmin if a $13 bait was hooked up. What do you guys think?
  3. Gotta love fishing topwater!
  4. I hear what your saying! It really is tough, but in high school and now college, I have co-founded/joined bass fishing teams/clubs. See if you can put up some fliers at school and get a little group together! You would be surprised how many people show up, and how great of friends you will become with them.
  5. Like Billy Currington says, "a bad day of fishin beats a good day of anything else."
  6. Andy Meyers Lodge in Ontario Canada. Muskie, Northern, Walleye, Lake Trout, Smallies..you name it. Plus the guys that run it are awesome

  10. Awesome video! But I agree, definitely not the right music
  11. TourPT: From what I have heard, fermi still heats the pond. I haven't been over there this year though, might be something to try out! Also, I have heard of Pratt Wayne, have not fished it though, so sorry I have no information on that except that my buddy fished it over the summer and said it gets hit pretty hard, very pressured. Good luck!
  12. WOW! Good looking fish, I too was throwing the rattle baits today, nothing to show for it though. I'm fishin mostly St. Charles and there are only a few ponds that have skim ice in certain corners of the pond. Otherwise all open water!
  13. Well, my buddy today got one on a scrounger. I had a really nice hit slow rolling a spinnerbait, not sure what happened, but never got to see it :-/ Not quiting though! Gotta catch one before I had back to school
  14. Stay single my friends
  15. Thanks for all the input everyone! I was throwing some swim jigs and bouncing them along the bottom as well as a jerkbait for quite a while too. Then I decided I'd go to BPS and spend some money ;D I'm headed out right now though, excited to use everyones advice! Hopefully post pics later!
  16. I am fishing in northern illinois in a lot of residential ponds, most of which have just lost their ice, some even have a little bit left in certain areas of the water. I went out today and boy was it nice to get out finally, but no fish to show for it. Anyone have any tips for such a scenario? Thanks!!
  17. I really like to cast a lot to a spot I have good vibes for. Threw a spinnerbait 11 times along side a laydown, 12th time-watched the bass hammer it.
  18. 5.75 lbs, won the sectional for our IHSA bass fishing team. Never been so pumped up in my life
  19. St. Charles, hour west of chicago. Went out to Shabbona yesterday, waters still in the low 40s. fun trip but nothing to show for it
