  3. Keep posting, you'll get there. There's plenty of interesting stuff to comment about on this board.
  4. Kind of made you want to scream "PUT THE TRAILER IN THE WATER".
  5. BPS has a Wally Marshall reel that holds about 120 yds of 6 lb monofilament for less than $50 (the last time i checked). I use it for throwing small big-o and other lightweight cranks and non-weighted plastics. I have it on a 6' BPS rod and I can throw a small big-o about 25-30yds with it.
  6. boatclassifiedY2K.com probass.com Both have a for sale section.
  7. If it's shallow and the grass is below the water (only a few inches will do), I would try a white spinner bait or buzzbait. You can try ripping the spinner and slow buzzing the buzzbait. Especially in early morning or late evening.
  8. I sent you an email with pix.
  9. Isn't the Arundel Mills BPS still open? Why not just drive over there and pick itup? Save you the heart attack of waiting for it to be sent from Missouri.
  10. Aren't most of the battery brands being mentioned made by Yuasa-Exide??
  11. Thanks for a really geat interview, Glenn. What a pleasure to see someone asking real questions of a #1 Angler. It's too bad you didn't have more time. I agree with the comment about Mike having class. Given his emotional reactions to his catches, it's good to see him in a calm emotional state.
  12. I think I'd be sure who owns it and make sure they don't mind if you: a. Fish it and b. Feed them. If the owner doesn't care, I'd go along with those who said take some smaller fish out. Up to 11-12 inches shouldn't hurt anything if they are plentiful.
  13. In golf shaft removal, it's common to use a heat gun to soften the epoxy enough to remove the shaft. I imagine this would work with a rod but I've never actually tried it. Some golf shops use a torch (it's quicker) I've never heard of anyone having any trouble with the graphite using this method of extraction. Just another 2 cents worth.
  14. You have really done a class A job so far. I can hardly wait to see the end result. You will enjoy fishing from this much more than you would have if you had bought a new one. Good luck with the remainder of the project. Thanks for the "log" of your progress.
  15. Frog Rules!!!!!!!!!!!!
  16. I don't like using green because I can't see it as well above the water. I'm a line watcher and it's important to me to see the line.
  17. I'd like a shot at it. I realize I'm late getting in but it sounds like fun.
  18. I like the same type bait (can't remember what they call it, maybe brush bug or something like that)from A&M Baits in Eufala, Ok. They are on the web and their prices are pretty good.
  19. I use zip ties instead of tape where possible.
  20. I took KVD's advice and got the Mustad triple grip (that he designed) in size 2. The RES probably sinks a little faster but doesn't hurt the vibration any that I can tell. It seems to be a very strong hook. I don't think the ones I got have the short shank which means they tangle every now and again. No more than others I've tried.
  21. I don't use them (yet) but a guy in my club uses them and he said he loves them. He buys them from a local shop but our WalMart does carry them.
  22. I use them all the time for cranks and spinnerbaits. They are a real timesaver and don't usually change the lure movement but like Maineman says, they DO get weak. Good suggestion to change them. Personally, I'd check them for strength, I think changing after every trip might be extensive but that's just IMO.
  23. PM sent
  24. Anyone have any experience with this unit. I bought a used boat recently and it has two of them with the GPS unit. I have the user manual but this thing is way too complicated for my simple mind. Anyone out there I could communicate with about operating the thing?? Appreciate any help that might be offered.
  25. When I lived in Maryland (where electric is the only thing allowed in the reservoirs back then) I went fishing with a guy in Liberty Reservoir. We put in around Rte 26 somewhere and went all the way to the top of the lake which is several miles. He had a washing machine motor rigged to the lower unit of a small outboard (don't ask me how, I'm not an engineer). He used 4 6v Golf cart batteries. We fished all day and never had a problem. It was awesome compared to fishing Rocky Gorge in my 14' Jon boat with a 36 Thrust Minn Kota.
