  1. I guess you got your boat back since your fishing LOL
  2. Great!!!!!!!! Send me all the details of where and when and we will be there. You can post here or PM me. Thanks Dutch
  3. Bass-Fanatic Josh: What an unselfish jester to volunteer to share your expertise in electronics. Would you be available on Friday September the 18th?? My partners new boat is a Z8 Nitro and has a Lorance HDS8 on it. If you can be available on that date I will co-ordinate with my partner and get right back to you. Thanks again for your generosity. Back Water (Dutch)
  4. Catt:: Who do you know, guide or individual, who is an expert on the use and interpretation of electronics that we might hire to teach us how to use it?? We are basically shallow water fishermen and struggle with summer patterns and interpretation. Were talking T. Bend. My partner has a new boat and new electronics. Thanks backwater (Dutch)
  5. Catt: We weighed in and some stayed at Lowe's creek. Six mile, Hurricane, patroon and Indian Mound were some of the areas fished. Most of the fish were caught from 8' in. It seems about as many were caught outside the grass as between the grass and the shore line. The fish seemed to be about everywhere.
  6. We had a 19 man tournament with the Cleveland Bass Club on Sat. and Sun. We only fish until 3:00 on Sat. and 1:00 on Sun. We wasn't looking forward to the weather forecast, but it turned out fine. Sat. heavy stringer was 17.20 lbs and Sun. was 17.72 lbs. Tournament winner was 26.67 lbs. 19th place was 18.02 lbs, so you can see all and all it was a great tournament. Spinner baits, flukes and plastics did most of the catching. Most of the big bass had already spawned. Be safe and keep a tight line - Backwater
  7. Cleveland Bass Club had 22 members fish Rayburn this past week-end - Heavy stringer Sat. was 11.72, big bass was 6.28, 36 bass caught. But man what a horrible day, rain ALL day. Sun. heavy stringer was 9.92, big bass was 5.29, 32 bass caught. They are shallow. plastics and chatter baits did most of the catching. Keep a tight line!!!!
  8. We, the Cleveland bass club has a week-end tournament this week-end. Fri. an 80% chance of rain, 100% on Sat., and 80% again on Sun. Temp. 65 on Sat. and 69 on Sun. The wind doesn't look too bad though, Sat. out of the E-NE at 5. and out of the N at 6 on Sun. The lake is at 166.46 or 2.06 off of full pool. Be safe - bring your rain gear - and keep a tight line.
  9. Welcome aboard Tonto:: These two forums are very active and informative. T. Bend more than Sam Rayburn. It seems there are more of the locals that fish T. Bend. I am from the Conroe area so don't get up there to fish that much but always give a report when I do. Catt, Shaneus and quite a few others keep us pretty well informed on the Bend, And Shaneus has a whole bunch of experience on Sam. Keep tuned in and you are sure to learn allot. Keep a tight line!!! 10. Good job Hoyt1!!!!!! A well thought out plan. When the expert reads your post (Catt), he will give you a critique. That is what he does and he is good at it. I, on the other hand, only fish T-Bend a couple times a year and cannot hold a candle to their knowledge.
  11. Good job!! I am sure you will get plenty of takers. We don't come often but will contact you when we do!!!
  12. Bryanhestor: I bet that was fun, nothing better than the top water explosion. I have a tendency to jerk too soon. Did your frog have a single or double hook??
  13. Way to go TxGator - an excellent stringer on any given day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  14. As far as learning, you can probably learn more off this thread than you could from a bass club because of the knowledgeable individuals who post on here. That being said, the camaraderie in the right bass club can be very rewarding. I have been in 3 different bass clubs, one at a time, since 1975 and have had allot of fun and learned allot. Some clubs fish individual weights, some team tournaments. This would probably be a large factor in your decision on which club to join. I have been in both and enjoy the team concept the most. I am presently in the Cleveland Bass Club, and they fish the team concept. We recommend the lakes we want to fish at the first meeting and the club votes on them. In years past, we have fished Raburn and Toledo Bend as many as three times each. This year however, we decided we want to fish a different lake each month. So, Raburn , T. Bend, Conroe, Livingston, Fork, Lake Houston, Lake Palestine, Richard Chambers and Cedar Creek came into the mix. Next year will probably be different. We fish our first tournament in Feb and end in Oct. Entry fees are $80.00 @ team which include big bass. We fish from safe light on Sat. until 3:00pm, and Sun till 1:00pm. The pay outs are not big they pay 1 place for each 5 teams and big bass for both days. They usually have 1 day tournaments if the lake is within 50 miles from Cleveland. They also have an annual fee of $40.00 year. Just my 2 cents - every club will be different.
  15. hunterfishes: Will prefish Livingston tomorrow and a 1 day tournament on Sat. - Will send you a PM on Sun. or Mon.
  16. Hunterfishes: When are you fishing Livingston???
  17. Hunterfishes: Will probably fish Livingston in May - let me know if you find that cut.
  18. Shaneus:: Had someone inquire about some lodging on the Bend. I didn't contact you as the last report that I had was that you were at 90%.
  19. Has the storms and the rain muddied the water up pretty good on TB??
  20. Hunterfishes: I answered the PM and told you to contact me when you were coming down. I don't know what happened. Have a club tournament on TB this weekend. I would assume they will still be shallow. We will be fishing out of Lowe's but can trailer so really don't know where we will put in. I like 6 mile, but not to many good reports coming from there. That is Shaneus home turf. He is building a cabin there, I don't know if he has finished it yet. Keep up the good work and get all the experience you can.
  21. hunterfishes::: Congratulations, nice fish. I thought you were going to contact me when you were coming to Conroe. With a fish like that you didn't need my help. LOL
  22. Not 100% sure but I think it is called a button bush - sure is tough stuff!!! Keep a tight line
  23. I personally do not think so. I do not think that it got cold enough. We found 63 degree water in some of the creeks a couple of weeks ago. This past front did not get cold enough to drop the temperature that much. Keep a tight line.
  24. I think it will start immediately with this next warmup coming along.
  25. The females caught last weekend had a little pink on the bottom of their tails, but were not tore up and bloody. They were shallow and the water temp was up to 63 in some of the creeks.
